It wasn’t Sergio Aguero who set the field alight this Sunday afternoon at the Reebok stadium, but Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko, continuing his impressive start to the 2011-2012 campaign. He scored his third goal (including the community shield) in so many matches, making his 27 million pound purchase last season look a bit better, being the best man on the pitch in City’s 3-2 win over Bolton.

It’s not only Dzeko. Not having Carlos Tevez or Mario Balotelli while Gareth Barry made his return gave City a much better and flowing game. David Silva looks much more comfortable with his role and position this season and any team that faces Manchester City that doesn’t realise Silva is the heart and facilitator of anything good and creative that happens on City attacks will suffer. Well, now with Aguero, it’s not a 100% true.

Not as exciting or memorable as his debut, Aguero creates so much with his speed, ability and actually feeling happy about playing. Unlike his Argentina teammate, Carlos Tevez. Tevez looked bored off the pitch and boring on it, not lifting his head up even once during his pointless dribbles. Ten days before the transfer deadline, Tevez is still in Manchester by body alone, not in his mind.

Bolton need a striker. Well, another one. Losing Daniel Sturridge (was a loanee from Chelsea last season) and Johan Elmander is too much. The 4-0 win in the first week with a fine performance from Ivan Klasnic and today’s performance does show this team have plenty of offense to display (goals from Klasnic and Kevin Davies), but another striker is a necessity. Bolton have a chance to have a very nice season if that need is addressed in the next 10 days.

The deepest squad in the league looks very good after two matches. Don’t forget – Bolton and Swansea aren’t the teams to be battling with City for titles this season. The community shield match did show City will have plenty of problems against teams with much more capable and aggressive midfields. Till the next one comes along, which might be very soon (Tottenham, August 28), City are the best show in the Premier League for the time being.
