The drought is over, and Arsenal finally have a trophy to celebrate. It might not take all of the criticism off of Arsene Wenger, but at least for one day and moment, memes are celebrating his success instead of making fun of him while taking shots at Jose Mourinho.

Arsenal needed extra time and a late goal from Aaron Ramsey to win 3-2 against Hull City, picking up their 11th FA Cup and their first trophy in any competition since the 2005, which also happened to be an FA Cup.

And now Wenger can shake off the specialist in failure jokes that Jose Mourinho started because Mourinho, for all of his talking and money spending this offseason, doesn’t have a single piece of silverware to show: He lost in the European Super Cup, finished third in the league, was knocked out of both domestic cups and didn’t make it past Atletico Madrid in the Champions League semifinal. Not exactly terrible, but nothing to brag about when you’re the manager of such a rich club that doesn’t care about deploying the most terrible of tactics.

This isn’t the pinnacle of hopes and dreams for Arsenal – players and fans alike. But beggars can’t be choosers, and after such a long time with nothing to actually celebrate, an FA Cup win over a team that will be fighting relegation next season isn’t something you can afford to ignore and not be happy with.
