We’ve already mentioned that no one really wants to take the Cleveland Browns job, but things are getting worst for the worst franchise in the NFL, as there are no coordinators left on the team as well: Norv Turner and Ray Horton have left as well, following the firing of Rob Chudzinski.

Chudzinski had the rare honor of being fired after only one season, something that hardly ever happens. The Browns did finish with a 4-12 record and showed no signs of improvement offensively, as their quarterback situation can only be described by this sentence: Their first round quarterback of the future is over 30 years old and is pretty bad, but still better than other first round picks the team made last season.

Josh McDaniels, the Pats’ offensive coordinator, turned the job down. Some metion Greg Schiano as the next head coach after a disappointing two-year tenure in Tampa Bay; others mention Greg Roman, the offensive coordinator from the San Francisco 49ers taking the role. However, no one has shown too much interest while everyone else that had vacancies has already completed most of their hirings.

Where did Norv Turner go? Turner didn’t mind staying with the Browns, but seeing that nothing is moving, he decided to hop on to the next job, joining the Minnesota Vikings under new head coach Mike Zimmer. Turner didn’t enjoy great success with the Browns as an OC, but he didn’t really have a normal quarterback situation as well. One can mention his success with Josh Gordon, and the potential he now has to turn Cordarrelle Patterson into a superstar.

Ray Horton who vastly improved the Browns defense is gone as well. He decided waiting around for a decision to be made was silly, and joined Ken Whisenhunt who took the head coaching job with the Tennessee Titans. It’s an empty slate in Cleveland.

New head coaches often bring in new coordinators, so that’s nothing new, but the empty coaching tree is a perfect example of how big of a mess there is right now for a team that hasn’t won more than five games in a season since 2007. Their owner might end up in jail, so yeah, things aren’t that great in Cleveland right now, and they probably won’t be for quite some time.
