French Champions Bordeaux are the first team to claim a spot in the next round in Group A, after beating Bayern Munich 2-0 in Germany. The French team enjoyed a very good day from their defense and especially their keeper, Cedric Carrasso. Yoann Gourcuff opened the scoring in the 37th minute, and it was Moroccan striker Marouane Chamakh who closed the deal in the 90th minute while Bayern players tried to save the day.
In the group’s second game, Juventus kept Maccabi Haifa of Israel still pointless and goalless, as Mauro Camoranesi scored the games only goal to give Juve the 1-0 away win. Bordeaux lead the table with 20 points, Juve follow with 8, Bayern are currently third (and in trouble) with 4 while Haifa close the group with a 0.
