MLB Scores & Standings

The Chicago Cubs pick up their fourth win in a row as they continue to have a good time in Cincinnati. Both the Washington Nationals and the Baltimore Orioles seem to be in a league of their own at the moment, while the Toronto Blue Jays can’t seem to get their season to pick up after a disappointing start.

Chicago Cubs 12  Cincinnati Reds 8: The Cubs continue to have a good time in Cincinnati, getting a couple of 3-run homers from Anthony Rizzo and Jason Heyward, while Wilson Contreras provided a grand slam home run that put the game to bed.

Detroit Tigers 5  Minnesota Twins 4: Justin Upton and Nick Castellanos hit solo home runs in the third inning to put the Tigers in front before the Twins tied things up, but another Castellanos RBI in the 6th gave the Tigers the lead for good.

Seattle Mariners 3  Oakland Athletics 4: The A’s win their 5th straight game behind home runs from Adam Rosales and Ryon Healy, while Jharel Cotton had a nice day on the mound, giving up two hits and two runs in 6 innings to pick up the win.

Washington Nationals 3  New York Mets 1: The Nationals win their 6th in a row, getting a strong outing from Gio Gonzalez on the mound, while Ryan Zimmerman and Matt Wieters helped out with the offense. Zimmerman got his 14th RBI of the season.

Chris Carter Home Run

New York Yankees 11  Pittsburgh Pirates 6: The Yankees score 6 runs in the 8th inning after heading into it tied 5-5 with the Pirates. Chris Carter provided a three-run homer in his pinch his appearance, while Dellin Betances, Bryan Mitchell and Aroldis Chapman did a great job of closing out the game.

Houston Astros 3  Tampa Bay Rays 6: The Rays score four runs in the sixth inning to come from behind, as Peter Bourjos and Evan Longoria both finished with a couple of RBIs. Austin Pruitt stood out on the mound with a strong 2.1 innings relief appearance.

Boston Red Sox 2  Baltimore Orioles 4: More home runs from the Orioles continue to carry them through a strong start to the season, this time Jonathan Schoop and Trey Mancini, as the Red Sox had to pull Steven Wright off the mound before he completed 4 innings.

Atlanta Braves 3  Philadelphia Phillies 4: Once again it is Maikel Franco that comes through for the Phillies, hitting a two-run single in the 10th for the walk-off win, with Jim Johnson blowing his second lead of the season already for Atlanta.

Cleveland Indians 7  Chicago White Sox 0: The Indians blank the White Sox with Carlos Carrasco giving up just 3 hits and 1 walk in 8 innings while striking out 8. The Indians hit 3 home runs as part of their shutout, including number 5 this season for Jose Ramirez.

Carlos Carrasco

St. Louis Cardinals 4  Milwaukee Brewers 1: A pinch-hit home run by Aledmys Diaz in the 7th inning broke a tie and put the Cardinals ahead for good, giving Bowman, Cecil and Seng-Hwan Oh an opportunity to improve their lead-holding stats.

Kansas City Royals 1  Texas Rangers 2: The Rangers win on a walk-off RBI from Elvis Andrus, with Travis Wood blowing it for the Royals bullpen. Mike Napoli hit a homerun in the second inning for Texas, his third of the season.

San Francisco Giants 3  Colorado Rockies 12: Mark Reynolds, Trevor Story and Charlie Blackmon hit home runs to help sink the Giants even further, giving Matt Moore a very rough day. Antonio Senzatela sizzled for Colorado on the mound.

Los Angeles Dodgers 5  Arizona Diamondbacks 11: Robbie Ray didn’t have a very good day on the mound for Arizona, but the offense of Yasmany Tomas, hitting a couple of home runs to finish with 3 RBIs, was part of the reason the starting pitcher was able to get away with a win to his name.

Miami Marlins 6  San Diego Padres 3: Dee Gordon scored on a wild play in the 11th inning to help the Marlins pull out of San Diego with a win, that included a couple of home runs for Giancarlo Stanton, who is already at 7 this season.

Toronto Blue Jays 4  Los Angeles Angels 5: Another rough day in the office for the Blue Jays, down to 4-13, as a good day on offense went down in smoke due to a grand slam home run by Andrelton Simmons.
