Samir Nasri 2.0

The 2013-2014 season of the English Premier League is over, as Manchester City are crowned champions, finishing just ahead of Liverpool. Chelsea and Arsenal will join them in the Champions League, while Norwich, Fulham and Cardiff will be the teams relegated, moving back down to the Championships.

Most of the focus on the final day went to the Etihad stadium where Manchester hosted West Ham, knowing they only need a draw to clinch the title, and Anfield, were Liverpool needed a win and to hear good news from Manchester. Liverpool did beat Newcastle 2-1, but Manchester City did what they had to quite comfortable, beating West Ham 2-0 to claim the league title.

Chelsea had an awful finish to the season, as it seems like Jose Mourinho’s return to the Premier League, no matter how he tries to spin it, is something of a failure. Chelsea finished third, losing on the final day 1-0 to Cardiff. Arsenal beat Norwich, also going down to the Championship, 2-0.

Tottenham had a comfortable 3-0 win to finish the season, beating Aston Villa, scoring all three goals in the first half. Everton, who will join them in the Europa League, finished the season with a 2-0 away win against Hull City.

Manchester United, the most disappointing team this season, ended it with a 1-1 draw against Southampton, going into an unknown future.
