Dele Alli scoring vs Newcastle

Dele Alli

The first weekend of Premier League football for the 2017-2018 concluded with two title contenders, Tottenham and Manchester United, making a fine start to their season – Spurs with a difficult away win at Newcastle and United with a double from Romelu Lukaku and a demolition of West Ham.

Newcastle 0  Tottenham 2: Newcastle made things difficult in their return to the Premier League, but Jonjo Shelvey once again let his temper get the best of him, earning himself a red card for a sort of stomp on Dele Alli, who milked the occasion to the maximum. Alli opened the scoring for Spurs in the 61st minute and Benjamin Davies added a second goal, both of them assisted by the sublime Christian Eriksen.

Manchester United 4  West Ham 0: Quite the performance from Jose Mourinho’s players, which included Romelu Lukaku scoring a brace on his debut for the club, Anthony Martial adding one after coming off from the bench and setting up Paul Pogba for the 4th one in the 90th minute.
