The main event of possibly the competition was won by Usain Bolt, taking the 100 meters race once again with a 9.79 seconds sprint, barely beating the controversial Justin Gatlin. A Jamaican won the Men’s 100 meter race, but not the one everyone thought, expected to bring home gold.
