Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups were again too much for Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks as the Denver Nuggets advance to the Western Conference Finals for the first time in 24 years after a 124-110 victory last night and a 4-1 victory in the series.

Dallas and Nowitzki top ‘Melo and the Nuggets 119-117

Dirk Nowitzki scored 44 while Carmelo Anthony scored 41. Nowitzki won both battles as Dallas outlasted the Nuggets and grabbed their first win in the series, 119-117 and made it 3-1 to Denver as the series heads back there.

Carmelo Anthony hit a winning 3 pointer to give the Denver Nuggets a 106-105 victory in Dallas over the Mavericks after the refs decided not to call an intentional foul by Anthony Wright on ‘Melo, allowing him to bury the winning three. Denver now lead 3-0.

Cleveland showed no signs of rust from their rest and Lebron looked sharp as ever after his “coronation” as MVP of the league, as they took down the Atlanta Hawks 99-72 in Game 1 of their series. Meanwhile in Denver, Carmelo Anthony and the rest were too much for Dallas who had only Dirk Nowitzki to fight for it’s cause. Denver head to Dallas holding a 2-0 lead.

Day 2 of the playoffs produced the Denver Nugget’s First playoff win in 8 straight playoff defeats in the past 2 seasons, Atlanta’s Surprisingly easy drubbing of the Heat, the LA Lakers predictable win over Utah and Philly beating the Magic in Orlando with 2 seconds on the clock.
