The big question is this – If the event known as the Munich massacre, which involved the kidnapping and murder of 11 Israeli athletes & coaches, along with a German police officer, would have happened to a different nation, without all the political ramifications regarding the impossible web of Middle Eastern relations, would the IOC mention it in its opening ceremony? This wasn’t the martial order of Beijing, but rather a fantastic blend of everything Danny Boyle thought was worthy from British culture and then some, making the London Olympic games a success, at least on the first day, going by the brilliant (yet a bit long) opening ceremony. More
