2010 World Cup Diary – Day 15

Two weeks from the day we started, and we got us our last 16, with Brazil and Portugal boring us (and getting booed) in a 0-0 draw, while the Ivory Coast got their one win, just like in 2006, that doesn’t mean anything, joining North Korea (if no one defects) on the trip home. Meanwhile, in Group H, Spain avoided the meet with Brazil, getting Portugal instead, beating Chile 2-1 while trying to make us fall asleep in the final 20 minutes. Switzerland couldn’t get lucky like they did in the opening match vs Spain and were held to a 0-0 draw with Honduras, who got their first points in the tournament, but leave South Africa without scoring any goals.

Portugal sent the North Koreans packing with a 7-0 win, Chile impressed again, beating the Swiss 1-0 and Spain got a late start to the World Cup with a 2-0 win over Honduras – All the goals, best pictures and Iker Casillas’ hot hot girlfriend.

Another day that causes huge ambivalence – enjoying life with a World Cup in it, with three matches a day, but still not satisfied with the level of play and the amount of goals. All the goals from today’s matches, plus the usual – Best Fans and best picture, tables and top scorers.

The Group of Death? Brazil should finish first and be joined by Portugal, as the Ivorians, talented and athletic, should fall short again, while North Korea will hardly get passed the halfway line during most matches, hoping to cause a huge upset in some match, but hardly stand any chance.
