Brooklyn Nets: Jeremy Lin & the Two-Position Player Concept

In our second look at the Brooklyn Nets right before their first preseason game of the 2016-2017 NBA season, we focus on the team making up for some of their more glaring weaknesses by trying to use as many two-position players as possible (and maybe even three). Jeremy Lin is part of that stock, although it’s doubtful his role on offense will change very much: The Nets don’t have another playmaker like him, and their main hope of not being a doormat this season connects directly to him doing well as the team’s point guard.

In another night of NBA preseason action, the Cleveland Cavaliers played for the first time, impressing with a win over Orlando Magic, featuring a very sharing and assisting LeBron James in the little time he played. The Oklahoma City Thunder bounced back from a loss to beat Barcelona, led by Enes Kanter once again. The Los Angeles Clippers recovered from the previous shellacking at the hand of the Warriors by beating the Toronto Raptors, which included Blake Griffin throwing a shoe into the face of Corey Joseph.

NBA Rumors: Philadelphia 76ers Probably Shutting Down Ben Simmons This Season

The Philadelphia 76ers are used to their first round draft picks sitting a season, maybe two, out. Ben Simmons is probably going to follow that trend after performing a surgery on his foot.

With the Brooklyn Nets first preseason game coming up (facing the Detroit Pistons), it’s time to start and think what we would like to see from this team as it works its way towards the regular season, and specifically where Jeremy Lin fits into all of this.

Another night of NBA preseason basketball, this time featuring the Golden State Warriors looking incredibly frightening as they demolished the Los Angeles Clippers, the Houston Rockets looking terrific in a win over the new-look New York Knicks, while the Philadelphia 76ers beat the Boston Celtics, finally getting to see what it is that Joel Embiid can bring to the floor.

The NBA preseason is underway, with a mix of teams playing their best players while others preferring to slow it down early. The Oklahoma City Thunder lost against Real Madrid, and so did the Chicago Bulls at home to the Milwaukee Bucks, featuring their new Wade-Rondo- Butler trio. The Toronto Raptors lost at home to the Denver Nuggets despite playing both Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan, while the Portland Trail Blazers handled the Utah Jazz with C.J. McCollum and Allen Crabbe doing most of the work.

Jeremy Lin Wants to Make the Brooklyn Nets Fun Again

At his best, Jeremy Lin is one of the more exciting players in the NBA. Yes, for those who haven’t been following us following Lin’s career, you may be surprised to read it. YOu may barely remember something about Lin starring for the New York Knicks in 2012 and making them easy on the eyes, something that’s rarely happened in quite a while. Even when they had their best season in over a decade (2012-2013), the basketball wasn’t that fun. The team was simply good, or good enough to make the conference semifinals.

Ben Simmons Injury Something Philadelphia 76ers Are Used To

The fact that things went so smoothly for the Philadelphia 76ers with Ben Simmons up to this point is the surprise. The bone fracture in his right foot? Per their history of big men getting picked high in the draft, it’s exactly what happens every time.
