NFL Playoffs – Carolina Panthers Come Out Of Nowhere to Win NFC South, Postseason Berth

It’s very exciting to see the Carolina Panthers dig themselves from rock bottom to win four in a row through December, concluding with a 34-3 victory over the Atlanta Falcons that wins them the NFC South and the final playoff spot in the conference. However, a lot of it had to do with the ultra weak division and schedule facing them in the final month of the season.

The 2014-2015 NFL playoffs begin on January 3 with the Arizona Cardinals and the Carolina Panthers and end on February 1 in Glendale, Arizona, for Super Bowl XLIX. Also participating: Baltimore Ravens, Pittsburgh Steelers, Denver Broncos, New England Patriots, Cincinnati Bengals and the Indianapolis Colts. For the NFC: Dallas Cowboys, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers and the Seattle Seahawks, the defending champions.

2014 NFL Season – Week 17 Scores & Standings

The 2014 NFL regular season is over without too much drama on the last week of the season. The Seattle Seahawks claimed the top spot in the NFC and the Green Bay Packers join them in the bye week, while the Carolina Panthers win the battle for the NFC South and the final playoff spot in the conference over the Atlanta Falcons. The Baltimore Ravens, joining the Cincinnati Bengals and the Pittsburgh Steelers in their division, won the race for the last postseason berth in the AFC.

After years of success, (Frank) Beamer ball is on the decline, but it’s still worth something on big occasions, as Virginia Tech cruise to a 33-17 win over Cincinnati in the Military Bowl in the only way they know how: Interceptions, defensive touchdowns and dominating through special teams.

South Carolina Over Miami – Something to Smile About This Season

After years of being on the verge of becoming part of the SEC’s elite and making it to a BCS bowl game, South Carolina took a huge step backwards this season. At least the disappointing year ended with something to smile about, beating Miami 24-21 in the Independence Bowl.
