Aaron Rodgers had a near perfect game, getting beaten by Drew Brees in the stat section but getting the W infront of a packed Lambeau field to open their Super Bowl title defense in 2011 with a 42-34 win over the New Orleans Saints.

    The national champions Auburn hardly impressed during week one, barely beating Utah State 42-38, knocking them out of the first AP top 25 rankings of the college football season. The Tiger become just the second national champions to fall out of the rankings on after the first week of action. The pre season top ranked team, Oklahoma, remained at the top spot.

    So, the phones haven’t been ringing, huh? The inbox is empty? Nothing on the Whatsapp or Viber? Mark Leplester is Flabbergasted. Yes, Flabbergasted. Tiki Barber? He’s devastated.   • The 2011 Pro Football Hall of Fame Inductees

    It was Prime Time yesterday in Canton as Deion Sanders led the 2011 Pro Football Hall of Fame with his gold shoes and gold jacket. Sanders wasn’t the only one given the honor – Shannon Sharpe, Richard Dent, Chris Hanburger, Les Richter and the founder of NFL films Ed Sabol, but he was certainly the best player of the bunch and the man to give the most memorable speech and appearance.

    Former NFL Defensive Lineman, Super Bowl champion and Pro Bowler Bubba Smith died yesterday. He did have a great NFL career, but his most memorable moment, in my opinion, is his “Spare Tire” Dixon role, going up against Al Bundy. R.I.P big man.
