For the first eight minutes, it seems like the Arsenal loser-ism was going to strike again, but after overcoming the initial shock goals from Santi Cazorla and Laurent Koscielny sent us into overtime, where a fantastic Aaron Ramsey goal gave the gunners a 3-2 lead, their 11th FA Cup trophy and their first title in nine years.

For 16 minutes, Barcelona were champions thanks to a fantastic Alexis Sanchez goal. But this season had one direction, and one deserving champion: Atletico Madrid. Diego Godin scored early in the second half and a 1-1 draw meant that the Colchoneros were champions for the first time in 18 years, managing to avoid defeat against the previous title holders for a sixth time this season.

Liverpool FC – Brendan Rodgers Cleaning House
The only way is up for Brendan Rodgers and Liverpool, but for that to happen they’re going to need to get rid of a lot of extra weight which means players like Iago Aspas and Luis Alberto possibly leaving after just one season at the club, with the future not looking too incredibly bright for other players who spent last season on loan.

Transfer Rumors 2014 – Arsenal Interested in Karim Benzema & Mario Mandzukic
Last season was the perfect example of how much Arsenal need a better, or at least another striker. Spending is no longer taboo, so it’s not surprising to learn of the team’s interest in Karim Benzema of Real Madrid and if that doesn’t work out they’ll turn their attentions to Mario Mandzukic of Bayern Munich.

Some things never change – Benfica lose Europa League finals, Sevilla win them. This time it was penalty kicks after a 0-0 draw through the 120 minutes (in which Benfica were the better and more dangerous team) that gave the Spanish side the title, winning the competition for the third time.
