Denver Broncos – Peyton Manning Tasting Failure
The past is meaningless in sports, for the athletes at least. No matter how you did your entire career and in the previous week, it’s a whole new game every time you step out onto the field. Peyton Manning wasn’t ready; the Denver Broncos weren’t ready for such a first quarter. Too much to overcome in their 27-21 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

San Francisco 49ers – The Best Team in the NFL
It’s only week 2, but sometimes a short impression is enough. After going 13-3 last season, missing out on the Super Bowl by only 3 points, the San Francisco 49ers under Jim Harbaugh were already very close. In 2012, after two convincing wins against the NFC North’s best (Green Bay Packers, Detroit Lions), it seems that a team with Alex Smith at quarterback is the best the NFL has to offer.

Miami Dolphins – Reggie Bush is Better Than Ever Before
The Miami Dolphins were secretly getting ready for an 0-16 season. Having a rookie quarterback in Ryan Tannehill doesn’t usually give a boost of confidence to an already troubled franchise, but maybe there’s a bit more light at the end of tunnel than previously thought, with Reggie Bush leading the way for once.

New York Giants – Eli Manning Loves Fourth Quarters
He didn’t get hurt on the final kneel-down, despite all the noise around it. Eli Manning survived a terrible first half, throwing three interceptions, making up for it in the final quarter with two touchdown passes, completing another fourth quarter comeback for the Giants in a wild 34-31 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Griffin vs Luck – Week 2 Reversal
The numbers this week? Very similar, with Andrew Luck throwing a bit better than Robert Griffin III, and more importantly, getting his first career victory in the NFL thanks to Adam Vinatieri hitting a field goal from 53 yards with 8 second left, while the Redskins lost in St. Louis to the Rams. Luck got […]

Chicago Bears – Jay Cutler at his Absolute Worst
He’s had bad games before, but this one something special. Not just getting sacked 7 times by the Green Bay Packers, as the Chicago Bears went down 23-10 in Lambeau Field. Not just Jay Cutler getting intercepted four times while posting a 28.2 quarterback rating. But it was the over-confidence in pregame, and the terrible behavior to his linesmen during the defeat.

Green Bay Packers – Aaron Rodgers Has a Defense to Rely On
For once, it wasn’t Aaron Rodgers and his vast & impressive crew of receivers that carried the Green Bay Packers to victory, their first of this NFL Season. This time, it was the defense, usually criticized for being pretty bad, that dealt most of the damage to the Chicago Bears and mostly Jay Cutler, beating their division rivals 23-10.

Washington Redskins – Controlling the Robert Griffin III Hype
It’s true that the Washington Redskins have the St. Louis Rams to prepare to this Sunday, but it seems that Mike Shanahan has an equally important job on his to-do list as well: Calming down the hype around Robert Griffin III, who became the first rookie to receive the NFL offensive player of the week award for his debut performance.

San Francisco 49ers – Alex Smith Finally Enjoying the Quarterback Life
When Alex Smith decided to give up on tasting free agency, he realized something very simply. All his seasons in San Francisco with the 49ers before Jim Harbaugh took over, and everything that happened in the 2011 season, Smith’s best since he was the number one pick in the 2005 NFL draft.

Baltimore Ravens – Falling In love with Joe Flacco
Suddenly, all that talk about being the best quarterback in the NFL. We’ve already established that the Baltimore Ravens, the only team in the NFL to make the last four playoffs, have a good shot at winning the Super Bowl. Joe Flacco and the offense being the main reason for it just wasn’t in the plans.
