New York Yankees – Joe Girardi Has no one to Believe in
Joe Girardi was growing tired of his lineup after the first two games, but the third consecutive loss, this time 1-2 facing a sublime Justin Verlander performance, made him probably lose all confidence and belief these guys can do anything.

Oakland A’s and Washington Nationals Defy Big Payroll Policies
Is having a big payroll a waste of money in the MLB? I guess it all depends on how you manage that salary expenditure. The New York Yankees, constantly the highest paying team in Baseball, are pretty much a constant fixture in the postseason. The success of the Oakland Athletics and the Washington Nationals is a little bit more surprising.

Ichiro Suzuki With His First Big Game (Red Sox vs Yankees)
Not that he hasn’t had big games in the past, but for Ichiro Suzuki to hit his first multiple home run game, as a New York Yankee, against the Boston Red Sox, is completely different than anything else he’s done in the past with the Seattle Mariners. Like it or not, it simply means more on a national level.

The Usual Problems in Yankee Stadium (Yankees vs Rangers)
It wasn’t about David Phelps pitching through five straight innings for the first time or Derek Lowe making his debut for the New York Yankees with 4 fantastic innings. It was mostly about how the Texas Rangers lost their lead of the AL after another disastrous outing in the new Yankee stadium.

Ichiro Suzuki – Hard to Believe He’s in Yankees Uniform
How did Ichiro Suzuki do on his first night wearing New York Yankees uniform? 1-4, 1 stolen base. Nothing sensational from a player going through a very sub-par season, showing that age catches up even with him. The surrounding and scenario were the special case this time – Ichiro Suzuki, playing for the New York Yankees, in Seattle, against the Mariners.

Welcome to the 2012 MLB Season, Where Higher Payrolls Mean Your Team Sucks
Money usually means success, in the long run at least, when you talk about Major Leauge Baseabll. With no cap limits, teams that spend more money end up getting the best player, more wins and plenty of times more rings. In the 2012 season, so far, the four highest spending teams – Yankees, Red Sox, Phillies and Angels, aren’t working according to formula.

Bullpen Problems Get Worse and Worse (Yankees vs Red Sox)
Bobby Valentine got booed harder and harder every time he went up to the mound and made another pitching substitution. Each move he made just got worse and worse, as the New York Yankees came back from 0-9 to win 15-9 in Fenway Park, furthering the suffering of the rather dim 100 year Fenway Park celebrations for the Boston Red Sox.

Alex Rodriguez Reaches 630 Home Runs ; Doesn’t Deserve to be on List
Alex Rodriguez hit his 1st home run of the 2012 season, moving him up to fifth on the all time list with 630. He’s now tied with Ken Griffey, 30 behind Willie Mays before he ventures, if he ever gets that far, to the 700 territory, where Babe Ruth, Hank Aaron and Barry Bonds reside. Like Bonds, Rodriguez shouldn’t be on it.
