Warriors – Nuggets Series: Don’t Call it an Upset
The Denver Nuggets looked like the hottest team in the NBA entering the NBA playoffs, but injuries and bad coaching took away all momentum from them. Meanwhile, the Golden State Warriors featured the best player in the series, Stephen Curry, while Mark Jackson might be whiny and slightly homophobic, but he knew how to bring the best of his players while rallying around Andre Bogut to come through with the upset, taking the series 4-2.

The Denver Nuggets playing the Golden State Warriors is turning into quite the entertaining series, quite as predicted, although not just for pure basketball reasons. The physicality and dirtiness of the series has probably been the most notable aspect of it, and after Mark Jackson complained about Stephen Curry being handled roughly by Nuggets players, George Karl does his own retaliation by calling Festus Ezeli an asshole.

Kevin Durant, realizing life without Russell Westbrook isn’t a all its cracked up to be, might dream of becoming the best player in the world, but he’s someway off that “title” at the moment.

No Jeremy Lin, where are thou coming from the Houston Rockets, making the most of their rivals missing their second best player and using quite unintelligent tactics to try and make up for it. Meanwhile, James Harden finally played the kind of game he’s supposed to, while Omer Asik made the most of being the focus of intentional fouls in an attempt to send him to the line.

In a series with all five games decided in favor of the home team by quite a distance, game 5 was no different for the Indiana Pacers, finally getting what they need from David West, while Paul George focused on doing the right thing instead of trying to score, regardless of the situation.

There’s nothing wrong with being a bench player who gives about 15-20 minutes a night, but Jeremy Lin wants to be and can be a starting point guard in the NBA, but it’s getting clearer and clearer that playing for the Houston Rockets under Kevin McHale and next to James Harden isn’t that beneficial for him, and probably for the team.
