For South Carolina and Texas A&M, it’ll be their first meeting since the Aggies joined the SEC. Both teams have a lot of talent on offense and defense they had to replace, but it seems that the Gamecocks, due to home advantage and overall talent, enter this game and the season and in better shape, shown through the preseason rankings, putting them at #9 opposed to the #21 of their opponents.

The final day of the 2014 Open Championship wasn’t the best Rory McIlroy had during the four days at Liverpool, but he did just about enough to claim his third major title, finishing two strokes ahead of Rickie Fowler and Sergio Garcia, getting one title closer to the career grand slam.

July the first marks the first day of another round of realignment in College Sports and specifically in College Football, with most of the noise coming from those joining the Big Ten, Maryland and Rutgers, and also Louisville and becoming a full time member in the ACC.

Florida Gators & SEC – No More FCS Opponents
Despite being the dominant power in College Football, SEC teams tend to schedule way too many FCS games which will probably hurt some of their team’s chances when it comes to make decisions about the College Football playoffs. Will Muschamp, head coach of the Florida Gators, has stated publicly that he doesn’t want any opponents from a lower division anymore.

The end to the 2014 NCAA Tournament means the end of the College Basketball season as well, and final rankings being handed out. Traditionally, the national champions, UConn, get the number one spot with the losers in the final, Kentucky, taking the runner-up position, although it’s probably clear to most they weren’t the best teams in the country.
