Match Highlights – Netherlands vs Mexico
There are rules in the World Cup, and one of them is that Mexico never get past the round of 16. A bad match from the Netherlands for most of it didn’t matter in the end, as a brilliant goal from Gio Dos Santos wasn’t enough to hold onto the win, as a powerful equalizer from Wesley Sneijder and eventually an injury time penalty from Klaas Jan Huntelaar put the Dutch in the quarterfinals with a 2-1 win.

Match Highlights – Colombia vs Uruguay
Not the favorites to win the World Cup, but it’s hard to deny that Colombia have been the most impressive team in the tournament so far, picking up a fourth win, this time beating Uruguay 2-0 to make it into the quarterfinals while leaving a terrible Uruguay side behind with James Rodriguez scoring twice, including the best goal of the tournament so far, now leading the scoring charts.

Match Highlights – Brazil vs Chile
The first match in the round of 16, the first penalty shooutout. After a 1-1 draw through the first 120 minutes, Brazil came through with penalty kicks as Julio Cesar made two saves and Neymar scored the fifth kick, while Gonzalo Jara missed the deciding kick by hitting the post.

Match Highlights – United States vs Germany, Portugal vs Ghana
No surprises in the final picture of Group G, as Germany beat the United States 1-0 with both teams qualifying to the round of 16, while Portugal beat Ghana 2-1 with a pair of hilarious goals that sent both teams away from the World Cup. The rains on and around Recife didn’t take away from […]

Luis Suarez, Savior of Uruguay & Destroyer of England
Great players don’t need a lot. Just a chance, or two. Luis Suarez made a laughing stock of the England defense, coming back from an injury to give Uruguay a 2-1 win that puts them right back in the heat of things in Group D, showing once again just how great of a striker he really is.

Match Highlights – Spain vs Chile
Some might say that it’s the end of an era, for but now, it’s simply Chile beating Spain 2-0 with goals from Eduardo Vargas and Charles Aranguiz, which means the defending world champions won’t be in the round of 16 while Chile secure their qualification from one of the top two spots in Group B.

Match Highlights – Australia vs Netherlands
The best match of the World Cup so far as Australia were able for about an hour to outplay the Netherlands until they ran out of gas. Eventually, the Dutch managed to come through with a dramatic 3-2 victory that keeps them on top of Group B and pretty much secures their place in the round of 16 unless something completely unexpected happens as the trio of Arjen Robben, Robin van Persie and Memphis Depay scored for the Oranje.

Match Highlights – Brazil vs Mexico
No goals in a World Cup match for the second time in this tournament, as the two leaders of Group A, Brazil and Mexico, couldn’t find the net thanks to a wonderful performance from both Julio Cesar and the man of the match, Guillermo Ochoa, making quite a few incredible saves from point blank during the match.

Match Highlights – Ghana vs United States
The USA are off to a great start, something they’re not used to in World Cups, beating Ghana 2-1 thanks to goals from Clint Dempsey and the winner by John Brooks, giving them a great advantage heading into their next to matches in Group G against the stronger European sides. Ghana might have been the better team for most of the match, but that one goal from Andre Ayew wasn’t enough.

Match Highlights – Germany vs Portugal
It seems to be that the biggest matches also give us the most one sided outcomes in this tournament so far, as Germany demolish Portugal 4-0 with Thomas Muller scoring the first hat trick of the World Cup and the Portuguese side finishing with only 10 men after Pepe was sent off for another stupid reaction from the centre back.
