Oregon Beats Texas – Mack Brown Doesn’t Get His Happy Ending
The Alamo Bowl did see a rare blowout as Oregon had no problem asserting their dominance and superiority with a 30-7 win against Texas, but the attention was mostly turned towards someone who might have coached his last College Football game, Mack Brown, instead of the real star, Marcus Mariota.

Kansas State Beats Michigan – Opposite Endings to a Season
It took Bill Snyder and Kansas State more than a decade to finally get a bowl game win again, happening at the expense of the very disappointing Michigan, who seem to have taken another step backwards this season, losing 31-14 in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl.

Louisville Beats Miami – Teddy Bridgewater Puts on one Final Show
When this season began, Louisville expected a bit more from this season. Going undefeated, BCS Bowl and Teddy Bridgewater winning the Heisman trophy. Maybe it goes to serve as proof to the growth of the program is finishing 12-1 with Bridgewater cementing himself as the number one quarterback prospect heading into the NFL is considered slightly disappointing.

Notre Dame Beats Rutgers – A Casual Stroll to End the Season
It was always going to be a rough return to uncharacteristic mediocrity for Notre Dame after last season, so at least it ended happily for the Fighting Irish with a comfortable win over Rutgers in the Pinstripe Bowl, giving senior quarterback Tommy Rees a proper send off from the collegiate game.

Washington Beats BYU – Bishop Sankey Shows Cougars How to Run
No surprises going into the game, which was always going to be about running the ball. Bishop Sankey for Washington on one side, Taysom Hill for BYU on the other side. The Cougars quarterback actually picked up more yards than the Huskies star, but it was the Pac-12 team that put on a better defensive performance to claim the 31-16 win in the Fight Hunger Bowl.

Syracuse Beats Minnesota – Nothing Comes Easy This Year
The first season in the ACC for Syracuse was had plenty of close games that went both ways. Their finale in the Texas Bowl against Minnesota was no different, scoring a game winning touchdown with only 1:14 left in the game.

Utah State Beats Northern Illinois – Defense all the way
There’s not a lot to be impressed about from Northern Illinois except for Jordan Lynch. When he’s stopped, there’s really nothing to see. Utah State put their impressive defensive abilities on show, beating the Huskies 21-14 in the Poinsettia Bowl.

Pittsburgh Panthers – James Conner & Tyler Boyd Breaking Some Records
It wasn’t a perfect first season for Pittsburgh in the ACC, but coming away with a bowl game win over Bowling Green after a late field goal by Chris Blewitt, mostly built by the ability of James Conner on the ground and Tyler Boyd as a return man and receiver is a pretty sweet way to end the season.

Oregon State Beats Boise State – It’s Been a While
Winning the Hawai’i Bowl by beating Boise State 38-23 isn’t going to take away from the very poor finish Oregon State had to this season, but it’s probably quite a relief to win a bowl game for the first time since that awful Sun Bowl five years ago, maybe setting off the program with a good feeling into what hopefully will be a better next season.

Colorado State Rams – Sending Their Regards to Mike Leach
There are two versions of blame in the New Mexico Bowl, won by Colorado State. One version suggests Mike Leach simply took the wrong decisions and messed up when it came to clock management. The other ignores anything that happens off the field, and puts the blame on the Washington State players who fumbled the ball.
