Michigan State Beat Michigan – Humiliating Their Rivals Once Again
It’s been a long time since Michigan State were the ranked team while Michigan were going into this game just hoping not to get humiliated. Like everything for this program under Brady Hoke over the last two or three years, they failed to even walk away respectably, losing 35-11 as the Spartans kept coming at them in the fourth quarter, feeling like they were teaching the Wolverines a lesson.

Oregon Over Michigan State – Toughness No Longer a Problem
The game was closer than the 46-27 score, but Oregon proved that toughness and playing against a physical, smash-mouth team like Michigan State might no longer be a problem for them thanks to a great second half from Marcus Mariota and Royce Freeman, which was yet another low-point for the Big Ten as its teams keep getting hammered in non-conference play.

College Football – Big Ten Takes Huge Rankings & Playoffs Hit
It’s not wise to make assumptions about what happens at the end of the season based on week 2 results, but it’s safe to say the Big Ten won’t be having a team in the College Football playoffs after a terrible run of results in one day, with Michigan State (losing to Oregon), Ohio State (defeated by Virginia Tech) and Michigan (crushed by Notre Dame) getting beaten quite harshly to show how far their conference seems to be right now from the rest.

UConn Over Michigan State – Better Than Anyone Expected
The story of the UConn this season is a remarkable one, which begins with head coach Kevin Ollie and the fantastic job he’s done since taking over last year, and leaders like Shabazz Napier, with a chance to win a second national title becoming reality after leading his team to a 60-54 win over Michigan State.

NCAA Tournament – Elite Eight Predictions (Kentucky vs Michigan, UConn vs Michigan State)
Two teams from the same state on the same night of the Elite Eight, as UConn take on Michigan State followed by the big game of the evening, Kentucky playing against Michigan to wrap up the picture of the NCAA Tournament’s Final Four for 2014.
-
Michigan State Over Virginia – Someone Had to Lose
Sometimes teams are so evenly matches it is hard to say what actually gives someone the edge in a game. A defensive battle between Michigan State and Virginia went the Spartans way 61-59, possibly because of Branden Dawson being very close to unstoppable for most of the game.

NCAA Tournament – Sweet Sixteen Predictions (Michigan State vs Virginia, UConn vs Iowa State)
The East regional semifinals will be between slightly surprising Connecticut and Iowa State, while the main course of the evening to conclude the Sweet Sixteen portion of the 2014 NCAA tournament will take place between Michigan State and Virginia.

NCAA Tournament – Favorites Avoid Any Real Problems
We did have two or three major upsets in the first day of the real NCAA tournament, but the teams expected to go long mostly avoided any problems, as Wisconsin beat American, Syracuse overcame Western Michigan, Florida struggled against Albany, Michigan State had no problem against Delaware, Villanova destroyed Milwaukee and Louisville found it quite difficult to overcome Manhattan.
