2014 NFL Season – Week 17 Playoff Scenarios
Heading into the final week of the 2014 NFL regular season, the final NFC playoff spot is up for grabs in a game between the Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers. In the AFC, there is also just one spot up for grabs, but for teams: The San Diego Chargers, Kansas City Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans will be playing for it.

The 2015 Pro Bowl Game Players
Despite the ongoing criticism of the Pro Bowl and its usefulness, it keeps on coming, changing formulas and traditions in order to try and stay relevant. The 2015 version of it will supposedly feature nine players from the Denver Broncos, six from the Dallas Cowboys and five from each of the following: Indianapolis Colts, New England Patriots, Pittsburgh Steelers, Green Bay Packers, Philadelphia Eagles and Seattle Seahawks.
-
Denver Broncos – Peyton Manning Made Andy Dalton Look Good
The Denver Broncos need to be worried, as their 37-28 loss didn’t just end their window of opportunity to get home field advantage in the playoffs, but it exposed Peyton Manning at his poorest form with too many interceptions and mistakes that aren’t usually associated with him. So bad it made Andy Dalton look like the best quarterback in the game.

2014 NFL Playoff Scenarios
One game and one more week left in the 2014 NFL regular season. The NFC South is the only division in the conference that remains undecided, as either the Carolina Panthers or the Atlanta Falcons will be the sixth team in the playoffs. In the AFC, there are two spots up for grabs, with the San Diego Chargers, Cincinnati Bengals, Baltimore Ravens, Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans all with the ability to clinch one of them.
-
Carolina Panthers – Somehow Still in the Playoff Picture
The NFC South continues to be a source of amazement, as the Carolina Panthers somehow, someway, find themselves leading the division after being dead and buried less than three weeks ago. The New Orleans Saints are out of the playoff picture, the Atlanta Falcons are still alive, and play the division leaders on the final week of the season.
-
Seattle Seahawks – Defense Looks Scary Again
The Seattle Seahawks crushing the Arizona Cardinals 35-6 doesn’t prevent them from making the playoff, but it did give the NFL another example of just how good the defending Super Bowl champions are right now. Not just defensively, which has been their better half for most of this season but maybe finally offensively as well.
-
Dallas Cowboys – Tony Romo Finally Ends the Playoff Drought
There was something different about these Dallas Cowboys and specifically about Tony Romo all season long. A 42-7 win over the Indianapolis Colts, so bad they benched Andrew Luck in the middle of the game, put them in the playoff after a four year absence, immediately raising the hopes and expectations for things to come.
-
San Diego Chargers – Philip Rivers Won’t Let the Season End
With nothing to play for, the San Francisco 49ers almost ended the season and playoff chances for the San Diego Chargers, but a huge second half by Philip Rivers led to a comeback, overtime and eventually a winning field goal by Nick Novak, setting the score at 38-35.
-
Philadelphia Eagles – Mark Sanchez Costing Them the Playoffs
The Philadelphia Eagles chose the wrong time to expose all of their flaws, as a 27-24 loss to the Washington Redskins which means Robert Griffin III has won a game for the first time this season, is probably going to cost them a spot in the NFL Playoffs, lamenting the fact that it was Mark Sanchez playing quarterback for them and not anyone else.
