NBA Playoffs – Atlanta Hawks Celebrating, Miami Heat Complicating
After an emotional, important win, the Miami Heat once again find themselves in a situation they can’t completely control. The Atlanta Hawks clinched a playoff spot with a 98-85 win over the NBA champions, while getting Dwyane Wade back wasn’t enough for LeBron James to carry his team to victory, which means they are once again tied for the top spot in the East and in need of an Indiana Pacers loss in the remaining two games.

There have been bigger games for the Miami Heat in recent years, but it felt like at least for this season, there has been no better moment for LeBron James to shine, leading his team to a 98-86 win over the Indiana Pacers, and once again capturing the top spot in the Eastern Conference.

Miami Heat – Couldn’t Hold On to Home Court Advantage
It’s not that surprising that the Miami Heat lost to the Memphis Grizzlies 107-102; it’s an acceptable road loss. However, the timing of it was awful, costing them the top spot in the Eastern conference, and all of the points LeBron James scored really didn’t make a difference.

Regardless of the clear foul Mason Plumlee should have been called for as he “blocked” LeBron James on the final play of the game, the Brookly Nets are a very big problem for the Miami Heat, proving it once more by sweeping the season series with a 88-87 win.

LeBron James Needs (With a Capital N) Dwyane Wade to Win Another Championship
There has been this theory running around lately that the Miami Heat can win a third NBA title (in a row I might add) even if Dwyane Wade doesn’t play. The truth? As decent as Toney Douglas might be as the plug in guy at shooting guard, LeBron James isn’t entering that three-peat elite club without Wade playing in the NBA playoffs.

New York Knicks – Playoffs Slipping Further Away
It’s not over yet, but combined with other results the 102-91 loss to the Miami Heat makes making the playoffs a very difficult goal to reach for the New York Knicks, having to withstand another huge night from LeBron James that made J.R. Smith catching fire from beyond the arc almost redundant.

Miami Heat – Trouble in a Former Paradise
No matter how you try and spin, the Miami Heat look like an inferior bunch to the one from last season. Following their 122-121 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves which slightly falls on the shoulders of Mario Chalmers and his free throw misses they’re still leading the Eastern conference, but mostly because their rivals for that spot are in an even bigger slump.

Things haven’t been going in the smoothest or easiest way for the Miami Heat this season, so LeBron James and the NBA champions are understandably happy to face a team like the Milwaukee Bucks and beat them 96-77, helping them recharge their batteries and keep their lead in the Eastern conference intact.
