Cristiano Ronaldo answered the critics by scoring his first two goals of the tournament, as Portugal took care of the Dutch and left the Netherlands with a shocking 0 points and a humiliating exit for Euro 2012, while Germany, as expected, beat Denmark to finish the group of death with 100% and the top spot.

Euro 2012 – Day 9 Summary (Greece vs Russia, Czech Republic vs Poland)
Everything that was predicted in this group got turned up side down. Russia, the best team through the first two matches lost to Greece 0-1, and while safe as long as there was a draw between Poland and the Czech Republic, Petr Jiracek sent the Czechs into the next stage along with Greece as the first quarter-finalists in Euro 2012.

Euro 2012 – Day 8 Summary (Ukraine vs France, Sweden vs England)
Roy Hodgson got himself some peace and quiet, even some praise, at least for a few days. England needed a late Danny Welbeck goal to beat Sweden 3-2, ending the Swedes chances in Euro 2012 while France were simply too good for the Ukraine in the post-rain match, winning 2-0 and taking the lead in Group D.

Euro 2012 – Day 7 Summary (Italy vs Croatia, Spain vs Ireland)
Fernando Torres came out as the big star and winner of the day, scoring twice to lead Spain in their impressive 4-0 thrashing of Ireland, while Italy were probably filled with questions about how they let Croatia come back from behind to end their clash in a 1-1 draw, in another fantastic day of football in Euro 2012.

Euro 2012 – Day 6 Summary (Denmark vs Portugal, Netherlands vs Germany)
Probably the best night of football so far in Euro 2012, as the group of death finally gave us the level of football and competition many expected from it. Portugal came away with a dramatic win over Denmark through Silvestre Varela, while Germany all but secured their qualification with an impressive 2-1 win over the troubled Netherlands.

Euro 2012 – Day 5 Summary (Czech Republic vs Greece, Poland vs Russia)
Poland and Russia, as expected, gave us the more entertaining match in a not stop affair, clouded by the pre-match violence that ended in yet another 1-1 draw for the hosts, leaving Group A wide open. Earlier on day 5 of Euro 2012, the Czech Republic rebounded from their opening loss with a quick blitz to nearly put Greece out of the tournament with a 2-1 win.

England defended well enough against France to secure a 1-1 draw, giving Roy Hodgson a decent start against a much better opponent.

Euro 2012 – Day 3 Summary (Spain vs Italy, Ireland vs Croatia)
Italy, as always, were too tough of a nugget for Spain to beat, displaying a strong defense that was good enough to draw with the usual elegant passing of the Spanish midfield (1-1). The later match provided a bit more goals due to the quality differences between Croatia and Ireland, as Mario Mandzukic became the second brace scorer in Euro 2012.

Euro 2012 – Day 2 Summary (Netherlands – Denmark, Germany – Portugal)
Mario Gomez was the hero for Germany as they managed to pull through a very tough and physical fixture with Portugal, coming away as the 1-0 winners, while Denmark joined them as the surprise leaders in group B with Michael Krohn-Delhi delivering a stunning goal to beat the Netherlands 1-0. Joachim Low disgusted everyone by eating what he picked from his nose.
