Marcin Gortat destroyed anyone, including Roy Hibbert, standing in his path, helping his team staying alive with a game 5 win to make it a 2-3 series, taking it back to D.C.

The Miami Heat needed a big night from their best player and he delivered by setting a new franchise record for postseason points in one game, leading the Miami Heat to a 102-96 win over the Brooklyn Nets and taking a 3-1 lead in the series.

The San Antonio Spurs have a chance to get themselves a long rest before the conference finals as they head into game 4 with the opportunity to sweep the Portland Trail Blazers, while the Miami Heat will try to rebound from their first loss of the postseason against the suddenly slightly more confident Brooklyn Nets.

Los Angeles Clippers – Good Coaching Matters
The Los Angeles Clippers came back from the dead in game 4, somehow beating the Oklahoma City Thunder 101-99. Thanks to going to a small lineup by Doc Rivers with Chris Paul and Darren Collison starring, while Blake Griffin finally started winning physical battles against Serge Ibaka, and the Russell Westbrook – Kevin Durant tandem and cooperation fell apart.

Indiana Pacers – Paul George & Roy Hibbert Too Good to Lose
The Indiana Pacers needed the best of Paul George and a late awakening from Roy Hibbert to take a 3-1 lead in their series with the Washington Wizards following a 95-92 win that was the story of two completely different halves, with the Pacers’ defense coming through in the second to put them on the verge of making the conference finals.

San Antonio Spurs – Too Easy Means Boring
Things shouldn’t go so smoothly for anyone in the conference semifinals, but the San Antonio Spurs are made from a different mold. There’s been nothing the Portland Trail Blazers have been able to do to slow them down, specifically having problems with Tony Parker who is having an excellent series which might be the result of all that rest he got during the last month of the regular season, leading his team to a 118-103 win and a 3-0 lead in the series.

Brooklyn Nets – Luck Has Nothing to do With It
Great shooting performances sometimes have more to do with luck than actual skill or great basketball, but the Brooklyn Nets dominated thanks to the 3-point shot by playing smart basketball and moving the ball quickly, resulting in a 104-90 win over the Miami Heat to claim their first victory in the conference semifinals thanks to some great shooting from Joe Johnson and despite a good game from LeBron James.
