After winning the first three games by an average of 52.3 point, the 2012 version of the Dream Team faced a real battle with Lithuania, never an easy outing, beating the European 99-94, with LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony each scoring 20 points to give Team USA their fourth win of the Olympic games.

    They said that this USA team starts slowly, resulting in a 49-25 first quarter, a new record for points in the Olympic games (156) and a new record for biggest margin (83 points) while Carmelo Anthony led the torching of the poor Nigeria team, scoring 37 points in just 14 minutes. It shouldn’t be this easy, should it?

  • Dream Team 2012 – Kevin Durant & USA have it Easy vs France

    Kobe Bryant said that it won’t be an easy game against France. Everyone who watched it begs to differ, as the 2012 Dream Team, Team USA, had no problem from the second quarter onward against the athletic French team with 6 NBA players, winning their Olympics opener 98-71, with Kevin Durant leading the way with 22 points.

    Not too long ago, a big deal was made when Scottie Pippen said that LeBron James could be greater than Michael Jordan when it’s all said and done. Eventually, he backtracked from what he said, claiming he was quoted out of context anyway. If anyone knows how good Michael Jordan was, painfully so at times, it’s Scottie Pippen.

    In what was supposed to be Team USA’s hardest and sternest test before beginning the real deal, the 2012 Olympic basketball tournament, the Americans cruised to a 100-78 victory over Spain, led by LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony in another game that showed everything that makes up for the noticeable deficiencies the 2012 dream team has.

    Back in 2008, despite all the young stars, it was Kobe Bryant who took team USA on his back in the final against Spain. This time, LeBron James showed that 2012 might be his turn to lead the Dream Team if things get a little tight, like they did in the exhibition game against Brazil.

    It’s been three weeks since the Oklahoma City Thunder lost to the Miami Heat in game 5 of the NBA finals, and Kevin Durant is now practicing with LeBron James, preparing with the 2012 version of the USA dream team, heading into the Olympic Games in London. Needless to say, he finds the whole situation a bit… weird.
