    2017 NCAA Tournament Round 1, Day 2 Scores

    The second day of the 2017 NCAA tournament concluded the first round and didn’t include any major upsets. Kansas and North Carolina eased through, as expected from number one teams, as did Duke and Kentucky in their games. Wichita State, Rhode Island and USC were the three lower seed teams that advanced in their games, although it wasn’t too big of a surprise.

    The first day of the NCAA Tournament didn’t have a Cinderella feel to it. Both Villanova and Gonzaga won their matchups, while the lower seeds who did win, Xavier and Middle Tennessee, weren’t causing major shocks while doing so. Northwestern, playing their first ever Big Dance game, beat Vanderbilt and advanced to the round of 32.

    The 2016 NBA Christmas schedule started strong with an impressive Boston Celtics win previewing the champions showdown between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors, the highest rated Christmas game in 12 years. Following LeBron James and Kyrie Irving overcoming Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant, the San Antonio Spurs, Oklahoma City Thunder and Los Angeles Lakers made sure their fans had a happy holiday.

    A day of surprises around the NBA, the biggest of them being the Brooklyn Nets, led by a rampant Sean Kilpatrick, beating the Los Angeles Clippers 127-122. The San Antonio Spurs looked completely flat at home against the Orlando Magic, while the Cleveland Cavaliers failed to show up as they were swept aside by the Milwaukee Bucks, led by a fantastic Giannis Antetokounmpo.
