Every time there’s a bit tournament, some rising star from a ‘lesser’ football nation will get a lot of interest from big clubs. Alan Dzagoev of CSKA Moscow and Russia, scoring three goals during the group stage, is drawing heavy interest from both Arsenal and Tottenham, among other clubs. Spurs, in the meanwhile, are on the verge of signing Gylfi Sigurdsson, also chased by Liverpool.

Alan Dzagoev is only 21, but his wonderful start to Euro 2012 might make him the next big Russian signing for Arsenal, who were equally impressed with Andrei Arshavin four years ago, although they didn’t get as much as they expected from that deal.

Euro 2012 – Day 5 Summary (Czech Republic vs Greece, Poland vs Russia)
Poland and Russia, as expected, gave us the more entertaining match in a not stop affair, clouded by the pre-match violence that ended in yet another 1-1 draw for the hosts, leaving Group A wide open. Earlier on day 5 of Euro 2012, the Czech Republic rebounded from their opening loss with a quick blitz to nearly put Greece out of the tournament with a 2-1 win.

We couldn’t have asked for a better day to kick of Euro 2012. Poland and Greece provided us with two goals and two red cards, while Russia showed from the first moment they are the class of this group with an impressive 4-1 thrashing of the Czech Republic after a wonderful performance from Andrei Arshavin and Alan Dzagoev.
