Chad Dawson knew the 12 rounds against Bernard Hopkins were going to be tough and dirty. That’s how Hopkins fights. That’s how Hopkins has remained a Light Heavyweight champion at the age of 47. Dawson did look the bloodier of the two due to a nasty cut above his eye, but there was no doubt about the winner, the better boxer and the new WBC Light Heavyweight champion.

Despite WBC, Hopkins – Dawson Rematch Seems Unlikely
The WBC has ordered a rematch between Bernard Hopkins and Chad Dawson for the Light Heavyweight title belt. After the farce of a fight in the first meeting back in October, it’s unlikely the fight will actually be worked out for financial reasons.

Not much of a fight to talk of, with the clock showing two minutes in the second round when Chad Dawson pulled a move out of the WWE, body slamming Bernard Hopkins, dislocating the 46 year old’s shoulder and by bizarre decision winning by a TKO, ending up with the WBC and Ring Light Heavyweight title belts.
