The New York Yankees struggled with their pitching last season, but they’ve gotten a whole of a lot better over the weekend. First they traded Jesus Montero to Seattle for 23 year old Michael Pindea who had a very impressive rookie season in 2011 and then signed free agent veteran Hiroki Kuroda on a one year deal from the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Jesus Montero Worth the Hype (Yankees vs Orioles)
Jesus Montero was called up from the minors for hitting prowess and his ability at catcher. The Yankees are in greater need of helping their pitchers, but Montero, at DH, justified his promotion with two home runs, helping the New York Yankees to a 11-10 win over the Baltimore Orioles, making it a 2.5 game lead on top of the AL East.
