It’s not only the Michigan football program that’s having trouble. Their men’s basketball team has just lost two consecutive home games to the likes of Eastern Michigan and NJIT. This puts them at 6-3 since the beginning of the season, and makes one wonder if there isn’t a serious problem with Michigan athletic programs in general.

Cleveland Cavaliers Fire Mike Brown – Who Comes Next?
It has been a rough few years for Mike Brown, who gets the less than impressive mark of being fired by the same team twice, being let go by the Cleveland Cavaliers after only one season at the helm. This will obviously put the names of George Karl and Stan Van Gundy at the top of the list for successors, while Mark Jackson will also be in the mix, along with college basketball coaches like Billy Donovan, Fred Hoiberg, Tim Izzo, John Beilein and Tony Bennett.

Penn State Nittany Lions – No Longer Winless in the Big Ten
The joke this season has been mostly this – The Big Ten is the best conference in basketball, by far, except for Penn State, who were held winless in conference play until they hosted Michigan, who have looked pretty bad on the road this season and are slipping down the rankings since reaching number one.

Michigan Wolverines – Number One After 20 Years
The last time Michigan were sitting on top of the basketball world was 20 years ago, when the fab five were still playing. A number one ranking doesn’t mean they’re national champions just yet, but it does say people are thinking they’re closer than they have been in quite some time.
