They said that this USA team starts slowly, resulting in a 49-25 first quarter, a new record for points in the Olympic games (156) and a new record for biggest margin (83 points) while Carmelo Anthony led the torching of the poor Nigeria team, scoring 37 points in just 14 minutes. It shouldn’t be this easy, should it?

NBA Free Agency 2012 – Trading for Dwight Howard, Keeping Kevin Love
Slowly but surely, the Brooklyn Nets are making moves that might, eventually, allow them to land Dwight Howard, although in order to get the Orlando Magic center they’ll need a third team to help them make the trade happen. For Kevin Love, playing on the Olympic team just makes him realize he’s missing out, big-time, on playoff basketball with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

London 2012 – Next USA Dream Team Ready for Olympic Games
After so many injuries to players from the 2008 Redeem team and for others projected to be among the final 12 player going to the 2012 Olympic Games in London, the 12-man roster of the United States men’s basketball team is ready, with five players (LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Chris Paul, Deron Williams and Carmelo Anthony) from the gold medal winning team four years ago.

Kevin Durant For MVP? Why Not?
Kevin Durant has won the NBA rookie of the year award in 2008, he’s a three time NBA All-Star, two time NBA scoring champion and two time All-NBA first team member. It’s time he adds the MVP award to everything else he’s achieved in the (almost) five season’s he has been in the league with the Oklahoma City Thunder and Seattle Supersonics.

When Kevin Love Looks Like The Best Big Man in the NBA
Kevin Love isn’t the best big man in the league, and he might not even be the best power forward. His numbers tell a slightly different story, and after scoring 51 points against the Oklahoma City Thunder, enough to push the Western conference leaders to a double overtime, 149-140 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves, who can argue?

Minnesota Timberwolves as N’ Sync For a Day
Kevin Love as Justin Timberlake? Probably not the greatest comparison, although I think JT is a decent basketball player. Not a double double monster like Love, who had some impressive moments during the 2012 All Star game, but we do know for sure that Love is no singer.

A Boring Winner (Jeremy Evans) for a Boring Competition (Dunk Contest)
Jeremy Evans did impress us by jumping over Gordon Haywood and dunking two balls, but the dunk contest just lacks any kind of star power, even being overshadowed by the three-point competition with Kevin Love and Kevin Durant, and will remain a bit boring as long as big names continue to avoid entering.

Kevin Love Breaking Out to Superstar Level
Kevin Love numbers aside, are the Minnesota Timberwolves for real? Depends on what you regard being for real. Championship material? Nope, not really close. But a playoff contender? After nearly a month of NBA action, the Wolves are 7-8, far from their usual position of already thinking about next year. Beating the Red hot Clippers (101-98) in dramatic fashion was another fine example.
