Team USA – Down to 34 Players Competing for a Place on the 2016 Olympic “Dream Team”
There will be 34 players in Team USA’s minicamp in Las Vegas next week, determining eventually who are the 12 that will go to the 2016 Summer Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro. The list includes four players (Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Harrison Barnes, Draymond Green) from NBA champions Golden State Warriors and three (LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love) from finalists Cleveland Cavaliers.

They said that this USA team starts slowly, resulting in a 49-25 first quarter, a new record for points in the Olympic games (156) and a new record for biggest margin (83 points) while Carmelo Anthony led the torching of the poor Nigeria team, scoring 37 points in just 14 minutes. Although the player getting most of the attention in this version of the dream team is undoubtedly LeBron James, there’s someone just as good behind the all conquering undisputed MVP of the NBA, Kevin Durant. Against Argentina, in the USA’s toughest exhibition test yet, it was the deputy to the NBA’s best player who carried the star studded team on his back.

Back in 2008, despite all the young stars, it was Kobe Bryant who took team USA on his back in the final against Spain. This time, LeBron James showed that 2012 might be his turn to lead the Dream Team if things get a little tight, like they did in the exhibition game against Brazil.

Did the 12 best players in the NBA get into the 2012 Summer Olympics Team? Probably, considering all the injuries, which included Dwight Howard, Derrick Rose, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. London 2012 – Next USA Dream Team Ready for Olympic Games
After so many injuries to players from the 2008 Redeem team and for others projected to be among the final 12 player going to the 2012 Olympic Games in London, the 12-man roster of the United States men’s basketball team is ready, with five players (LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Chris Paul, Deron Williams and Carmelo Anthony) from the gold medal winning team four years ago.
