No surprising in the first poll, the preseason one, for the 2017 college football season. Alabama, Ohio State, Florida State and USC seem like the favorites to reach the College Football Playoffs, while defending national champions Clemson, Big Ten champions Penn State and the Big 12 champions Oklahoma are hoping to prove everyone wrong over the course of this fall.

A College Football season can’t begin with a preseason poll, that doesn’t surprise anyone by putting Florida State as the number one team heading into the 2014 season, although Alabama, Oregon and Oklahoma have also been getting consideration as potential national champions when this is all over.

Preseason College Football Rankings – Worth Anything?
The preseason college football rankings for the 2012 season came out this week and guess what – LSU, who led the rankings for most of last season and Alabama, #2 for most of last season and the national champions, took the top two spots once again. SEC dominance doesn’t change, it just got stronger. Problems is these preseason rankings usually don’t mean much.
