Real Madrid – Cristiano Ronaldo Begins His Season

Forget about Cristiano Ronaldo scoring the opening goal in the first leg; His start to the 2012-2013 season was a sleepy one, but a fantastic first half in the 2-1 win against Barcelona signaled to us that he’s finally arrived with goals, flair and a bit of glory in the end to pick up the first title of the season.

It may only be the Supercopa, but it was a first for Real Madrid since 2008, taking full advantage of the Barcelona defensive problems with early goals from Gonzalo Higuain and Cristiano Ronaldo. Lionel Messi got one back for Barcelona with a beautiful free kick, but with 10 men, the job of coming back from 2-1 was too much, losing the two legs on away goals.
