Premier League – Manchester City vs Liverpool Predictions

One team in the title race, the other not quite sure where it’s heading. Manchester City are losing ground in the race for the Premier League championship, and can’t afford to lose more points. Liverpool might be headed to Europe, but it’s not sure how, and hard to tell if they’re good enough to make it.

Manchester United – Wayne Rooney & Robin Van Persie Save the Day Again

On one end it was Robin van Persie, this time not as a scorer, but as a goal-line savior. On the other end it was Wayne Rooney, in excellent form of late, enjoying a huge Fulham mistake to give him and Manchester United the only goal of the match, and a 10 point lead on top of the Premiership.

Chelsea FC – Both Demba Ba & Fernando Torres Were Useless

Another match, another loss, and another press conference in which Rafa Benitez has to make up some excuses for his team, while Frank Lampard can’t stop scoring, Juan Mata keeps playing like the best on the pitch while his striker, Demba Ba and Fernando Torres, hardly make any sort of impact.

Arsenal FC – Lukas Podolski Needs a Little Bit of Luck

Lucky win? Arsenal did deserve to come out as the winners for once, but not with the usual style their known for, that hasn’t been bringing them lots of points this season. Lukas Podolski scored the winning goal, needing a lucky touch to actually see it go in, but winning ugly is something Arsenal might need to start doing more often.

Real Madrid – Cristiano Ronaldo Setting a New Kind of Record

Losing matches on the road isn’t something new for Real Madrid this season, dropping three points away from home for the fifth time this season. The real change comes from Cristiano Ronaldo, scoring the first own goal of his career in the only real incident in a terrible match for the La Liga champions.

Owen Farrell Keeps Getting Better (England vs Scotland)

It wasn’t a perfect performance from the young England Fly-Half, but you couldn’t have asked for much more as well. Owen Farrell kept hitting penalties and making the right passes and decisions as the home side began their Six Nations campaign brilliantly, demolishing a Scotland side that fought hard, but wasn’t really close to causing an upset.

Brian O’Driscoll With a Little Bit More Magic (Wales vs Ireland)

Counted out time and time again, Brian O’Driscoll keeps coming back, this time with a tremendous match in the 2013 Six Nations opener, leading Ireland to a very impressive away win against Wales after a perfect first half and an enormous defensive effort, sometimes with 14 men, in the second.

Los Angeles Lakers – Finding a Way to Win on the Road

After an entire month without a single road win, the Los Angeles Lakers finally got a victory (against a weak opponent) away from home and without Dwight Howard, as Kobe Bryant reverted to the guy who thinks about passing and teammates, while Pau Gasol looked like the player who should be one of the best big men in the NBA.
