Four games, three wins, the Miami Heat Should be pleased with some of what they’re seeing. Two new major players on the bench and the rest is pretty much the same, except for the defense which has been giving up 109 points per game. LeBron James, a bit wiser about what it takes to win an NBA title, isn’t working up much of a sweat.

New York Knicks – Right now do not Have a Weakness
A small sampling pool of only three games doesn’t mean much, but the New York Knicks are impressive. They’ve scored at least 100 points in all three wins. They’ve won by at least 16 points three times, and they haven’t let anyone score more than 88 points on them. Not just Carmelo Anthony deserves praises. Everyone deserves it.

Remember this? The talk of Kobe Bryant waiting till his contract runs out in 2014 and then paving the way for LeBron James to sing for the Los Angeles Lakers? Maybe he just likes messing with everyone, but the Black Mamba is now saying that his plan is to go on till the age of 40.

New Orleans Saints – Winning Despite Drew Brees Being Less Than Amazing
Weird things happened on this Monday Night Football in New Orleans. No, the Saints didn’t suddenly shut down on defense, still giving up over 400 yards for the 8th straight time, the longest streak since at least 1950. But they did enough, mostly blitzing and blitzing well; enough to make Drew Brees have an OK night and still come away with the 28-13 win.

When you’re sacked 7 times, the chances of winning a game reduce significantly. This has been the kind of physical abuse Michael Vick has been exposed to all season, and you can’t expect your quarterback to not make mistakes when he’s running for his life over half the time. The Philadelphia Eagles have run out of excuses, and Andy Reid seems to have run out of answers.

Chelsea FC – Ending Mark Clattenburg’s Career
It doesn’t matter if you think Chelsea are right or wrong in pursuing Mark Clattenburg for alleged racial slurs he made directed at John Obi Mikel; The club didn’t have a choice once players told them what they think they heard. Meanwhile, Clattenburg has once again been left off the list of officials who will be on duty for the matches in all the football leagues this weekend.

It’s hard to believe it’s been over a quarter of a century since Alex Ferguson arrived at Manchester United, beginning the most successful tenure ever by a manager in the Premier League (or whatever it was called back then). Exactly 26 years later, the club that owes him quite a lot will honor him with a statue that will be unveiled in two weeks time.
