NFL Rumors – New England Patriots Closest to Signing Will Smith

Despite not playing a single game last season due to an injury, Will Smith has a list of suitors interested in his fading pass rushing skills. Of those interested in him, the New England Patriots are probably the team closest to eventually picking him up.

Dodgers Over Tigers – Good Problems to Have

With the highest payroll in the league, it’s not surprising that the Los Angeles Dodgers find it difficult to give batting opportunities to all of their outfielders. In an extra innings 3-2 win over the Detroit Tigers, it was Carl Crawford who made the biggest impression, hitting a walk-off double to clinch the first game of the series.

Houston Rockets – James Harden on Fire, Jeremy Lin a Little Less

There was never going to be a lot of defense as the Houston Rockets clashed with the Los Angeles Lakers, and no surprises whatsoever happened with the Rockets winning 145-130 with an excellent performance from both James Harden and Terrence Jones while Jeremy Lin was a bit more in the background, not taking advantage of not getting enough of a chance to put up the big numbers almost everyone seemed to do against the Lakers.

Dallas Mavericks – Dirk Nowitzki Paving His Way to the Hall of Fame

As if Dirk Nowitzki needed any more achievements or milestones to assert his place in the basketball hall of fame a few years from now, he led the Dallas Mavericks to a 95-83 win over the Utah Jazz while passing Oscar Robertson and move into 10th on the NBA’s all-time scoring list.

Brewers Over Phillies – Ryan Braun Doesn’t Mind the Hate

It hasn’t been a very good start to the season for Ryan Braun, but things changed as always for him on a road game against the Philadelphia Phillies, his bat exploding with three home runs and 7 RBIs en route to a 10-4 win of the Milwaukee Brewers.

Brooklyn Nets – Lucky That NBA Referees Suck

Regardless of the clear foul Mason Plumlee should have been called for as he “blocked” LeBron James on the final play of the game, the Brookly Nets are a very big problem for the Miami Heat, proving it once more by sweeping the season series with a 88-87 win.

College Basketball: Final Rankings of the 2013-2014 Season

The end to the 2014 NCAA Tournament means the end of the College Basketball season as well, and final rankings being handed out. Traditionally, the national champions, UConn, get the number one spot with the losers in the final, Kentucky, taking the runner-up position, although it’s probably clear to most they weren’t the best teams in the country.

Match Highlights – Chelsea vs PSG, Dortmund vs Real Madrid

Some feared it might be a boring evening of football, but two matches went wire to wire with excitment and suspense, and eventually it was Chelsea with a 2-0 win over PSG and Real Madrid despite losing 2-0 to Borussia Dortmund that make it into the Champions League semifinals.

LeBron James Needs (With a Capital N) Dwyane Wade to Win Another Championship

There has been this theory running around lately that the Miami Heat can win a third NBA title (in a row I might add) even if Dwyane Wade doesn’t play. The truth? As decent as Toney Douglas might be as the plug in guy at shooting guard, LeBron James isn’t entering that three-peat elite club without Wade playing in the NBA playoffs.

Joe Dumars – The Rise & Fall of a General Manager

The NBA is a general manager’s (or other titles that all do the same thing) league. More stats, more money, more decisions on team building come from upstairs, while most head coaches simply make the pieces work. Joe Dumars seemed to be on the path to greatness through the early years of his tenure with the Detroit Pistons, but the failures and bad choices he’s made since building that championship team have finally caught up with him, costing him his job.
