San Antonio Spurs – The Closest They Have to Perfect Basketball

A rare occurrence: Gregg Popovich with nothing to complain about after the game. The San Antonio Spurs put a passing and movement clinic against the Cleveland Cavaliers, winning 122-101 with Danny Green of all people leading the way, looking as good as he did in the NBA finals.

Houston Rockets – Jeremy Lin Becoming Irrelevant & James Harden Almost Loses the Game

One of the more interesting things about the way Jeremy Lin has been treated by the Houston Rockets and specifically Kevin McHale is that he actually didn’t do anything wrong to deserve losing his role with the team and with that the minutes he’s used to playing. It’s hard to criticize James Harden and Patrick Beverley while the team is doing so well, but the wrongly appointed star of the team almost found a way to cost them a win with one of the dumbest decisions seen this season from a wrongly perceived elite player.

Oklahoma City Thunder – Kevin Durant Scores, Russell Westbrook Does Everything Else

There’s nothing new about Kevin Durant scoring at an alarming rate (if your’e an opponent) or Russell Westbrook having a terrific all around game, but getting a triple double in under 21 minutes while the league’s leading scorer continues to drop 40-point games like there’s nothing to it make the Oklahoma City Thunder so dangerous as we get closer to the playoffs, even if these numbers were achieved against the Philadelphia 76ers.

NFL Rumors – Atlanta Falcons Interested in Signing Jairus Byrd

It seems like Jairus Byrd and the Buffalo Bill won’t be coming to terms on a new deal, and the team isn’t going to use the franchise tag on him. This leaves an opening for the Atlanta Falcons to try and sign the safety, if they can improve their cap situation.

Heat vs Rockets – LeBron James Goes Through Bizarro Night

Coming off the best scoring performance of his career, LeBron James looked very ordinary against the Houston Rockets as the Miami Heat lost 103-106 with some terrible defense throughout the game and a big night for James Harden and Dwight Howard on the other end.

NBA Players With Most 60 Point Games

It’s hard to say if this is going to be the first and last time LeBron James reaches 60 points in a game, but it’s rare for a player to do it more than once. Only four: Elgin Baylor, Kobe Bryant, Wilt Chamberlain and Michael Jordan have been able to do it.

Scoring is Trendy Again in the NBA
The NBA game changes and evolves. The way it’s played, and the way it’s been viewed by the professionals and the amateurs. An interesting trend and change this season has been individual scoring. Not just Kevin Durant reaching new heights and achievements by LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony. A lot more players are suddenly scoring 20 points or more.

Los Angeles Lakers – Little Moment of Happiness

There haven’t been too many pleasing moments this season for the Los Angeles Lakers, so it makes their 107-106 win over the Portland Trail Blazers thanks to a game winning touch by Wesley Johnson even easier to cling on to as a positive in a season filled with bad moments.

NBA Rumors – New York Knicks Giving Carmelo Anthony No Reason to Stay

With every loss, Carmelo Anthony distances himself even further from a future with the New York Knicks. That perceived sense of urgency to keep him coming the front office doesn’t seem to be translating very well into coaching or the players.
