Serge Djiehoua With the Fastest Red Card in History

Less then 10 seconds is all it took Serge Djiehoua of AO Glyfada in the Greek second division to get himself sent off from a match against Olympiacos Volou, coming on as a substitute and leaving the match laughing after the terrible decision to give him the red card.

The 30 year old Ivorian striker took part of a match Olympiacos eventually won 4-1. Mere seconds after coming on, Djiehoua tried to win the ball, going up against¬†Athanasios Pindonis. In the tussle for the ball, Djiehoua shoved Pindonis, putting his forearm on Pindonis’ chest. However, the Greek midfielder decided to make it look like he was hit in the face, falling to the grass, clutching his face.

The referee didn’t hesitate, even though he clearly didn’t see what actually happened, and decided to give Djiehoua a red card after only about 7 seconds of actual football time on the pitch for him. The striker, who enjoyed some successful spells in Turkey a few years ago, didn’t even take it too seriously, leaving the pitch while laughing hysterically, knowing there wasn’t much to do about the incident, but also that the referee made an idiotic decision.
