Liverpool FC – Philippe Coutinho & Daniel Sturridge Look Like They’re Having Fun

Too little, and probably late as well. If Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho would have been playing for Liverpool since the start of the season, maybe things would have ended differently. A couple of spots higher in the table and European football next season. There’s plenty of promise to a side that has looked depressed at times during the campaign, and missed out on a happier finish for it.

New York Knicks – Mike Woodson & Carmelo Anthony Need to Come Up With Answers and Fast

Aside from an impressive run in the second game of the series, it keeps looking like the New York Knicks are being outplayed and bullied around in almost every moment of their conference semifinal series, with Mike Woodson doing too much tinkering when it comes to his lineups, while Carmelo Anthony is falling into all the categories his critics keep putting him in over the years, and in short simply playing terrible, selfish and failing basketball.

Oklahoma City Thunder – Kevin Durant Needs More From Serge Ibaka & Kevin Martin

It’s hard to point a finger on the one reason the Oklahoma City Thunder have been looking so bad on the court, regardless of who is missing. Reggie Jackson is doing a good job in the place of Russell Westbrook, but Kevin Durant needs more from what worked during the regular season – Serge Ibaka and Kevin Martin, who have been disappointing, to say the least, the Western Conference Semifinals so far.
-
Indiana Pacers – Roy Hibbert Destroying Tyson Chandler in the Paint

In the most un-watchable playoff series in a very long time, seeing Roy Hibbert and in general the Indiana Pacers look so dominant physically is probably the only thing that keeps a lot of people going, but there’s no doubt that through all the ugliness it’s impressive to see a team so confident and so superior in almost every physical battle, getting a lot from Paul George and George Hill when it doesn’t come to offense.

Memphis Grizzlies – On Marc Gasol Being Clutch, MVP’ish and DPOY all at Once

The Memphis Grizzlies don’t have a scorer as good as Kevin Durant is, but Marc Gasol is good enough to lead the way and take the lead in the Western Conference Semifinals, getting it done on both ends of the floor while getting just enough offensive help from Mike Conley and Tony Allen to remain unbeaten at home in the 2013 playoffs.

NFL Rumors – San Francisco 49ers to Sit Marcus Lattimore for the Season

If it wasn’t for his injuries over the last couple of years, Marcus Lattimore would have been a definite first round pick. The San Francisco 49ers took a chance on him in the fourth round and 131st overall pick, but being quite a patient organization, he won’t be rushed, and more likely than not sit out the entire season.

NFL Rumors – Kansas City Chiefs Won’t Trade Branden Albert; Play Him at Left Tackle

One of the more persistent rumors this off-season has been the talk of Branden Albert being traded by the Kansas City Chiefs after they gave him the franchise tag earlier on, but recent developments have brought both sides to a standstill, with Albert not getting the long-term contract he wants, but also gets to keep the position of left tackle.

NFL Rumors – Cincinnati Bengals Will Make Rex Burkhead Their Number One Running Back

After another playoff appearance last season, the Cincinnati Bengals aren’t planning on letting that streak end, hoping that the upgrades they’ve made to their offense through the NFL draft will be enough to take them beyond the wildcard stage. The most surprising addition, in the long run, might be Rex Burkhead, the sixth round pick out of Nebraska, making the strongest impression at this very early stage in training camp.

NFL Rumors – Tampa Bay Buccaneers Will Turn Mike Williams Into a Rich Man

Entering the last season of his rookie contract, Mike Williams and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a team that seems to be on the rise and on a spending spree like no other in the NFL, are about to extend their relationship that will give the wide receiver the kind of contract extension that makes up for the money “he lost” during his first three seasons in the NFL.

NFL Rumors – Denver Broncos & Tennessee Titans Still Interested in Dwight Freeney

If anyone doesn’t remember, one of the best defensive ends the NFL has had for over a decade, Dwight Freeney, is still available on the free agency market. After a quiet period concerning the veteran, Freeney is scheduled to visit a number of teams in the next few days, while the Denver Broncos and the Tennessee Titans might be the most interested of parties.
