Utah Jazz Make Everyone Feel Good by Signing JP Gibson

It’s NBA preseason kicking off, but not everything has to be about basketball. The Utah Jazz were about more than that when they signed 5-year old JP Gibson, diagnosed with lymphoblastic leukemia, on a one day contract so he can wear the jersey and play with the team on the annual preseason intrasquad scrimmage.

LeBron James Wanst the NBA and it’s Teams to Pay Through the Nose

The NBA is growing, and the players want a cut from the money the league is going to be raking in from its next TV contract. LeBron James is the most famous basketball player but he’s not just a face. His words mean something and represent a lot of other players in this league, who aren’t planning to be left out of the celebration.

NBA Preseason – Boston Celtics Have Hope, Philadelphia 76ers Still Terrible

The Boston Celtics won’t make the playoffs this season. Neither will the Philadelphia 76ers, but even without Rajon Rondo (who might get traded at some point), there’s some ready talent on this team and not just extremely young players backed with too many draft picks. For Sixers fans, it’s just going to be another season of hovering around or having the worst record in the NBA.

Los Angeles Lakers – Kobe Bryant Looks Good, Jeremy Lin Great Without Scoring

The best news for the Los Angeles Lakers after their first preseason game, in which they beat the Denver Nuggets? No one injured and no other health-related issues. Chicago Bulls – Nikola Mirotic, Not Derrick Rose, Rules Preseason Debut

How seriously do teams take the NBA preseason? From the tension and borderline violence in the game between the Chicago Bulls and the Washington Wizards, it seems that very seriously. Cleveland Cavaliers – LeBron James & Big Three Get an Easy First “Real” Game

The Cleveland Cavaliers have already made their second LeBron James era debut in front of the home fans, but against another team? Their 107-80 win over Maccabi Tel-Aviv, the former team of head coach David Blatt, proved to be another smooth milestone on the way to hopefully contending and maybe even winning the NBA title.

NBA Rumors: Charlotte Hornets Getting a new & Improved Michael Kidd-Gilchrist

For the first time in quite a while, there’s optimism that’s lasting and not a momentary thing for the Charlotte Hornets. One thing that could possibly make the very promising looking 2014-2015 NBA season even better for them is if Michael Kidd-Gilchrist is finally able to turn himself into a consistent offensive threat.

New York Knicks – Carmelo Anthony is Delusional if he Thinks He’s Underrated

The New York Knicks had a chance to start fresh this summer but got stuck with a max contract and Carmelo Anthony, a very good player that will never lead them to a championship and also thinks that he’s actually underrated by what he considers to be so-called basketball experts.

Cleveland Cavaliers – LeBron James & the New Big Three Make Preseason Debut

And so it begins. LeBron James, Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving teamed up for the first time as part of the annual Wine & Gold Scrimmage the Cleveland Cavaliers hold each year at the beginning of every preseason. Unlike the past four years, this one came with plenty of expectations and anticipation.

NBA Rumors – Memphis Grizzlies Holding on to Michael Beasley

There is still time before final roster decisions are made but it looks like the Memphis Grizzlies, a very good but somewhat limited team, are going to stick with Michael Beasley, who until not long ago looked like he might miss out on the beginning of this NBA season.
