Team USA – One More for the Gold Medal
Just like all the other opponents Team USA has gone through in the 2014 Basketball World Cup, Lithuania managed to pose a problem for a very short time. They might have had size to match and were chippier and dirtier than other teams, but the end result was the same: 96-68, with the backcourt doing most of the job, led by Kyrie Irving, James Harden and Klay Thompson.

If Byron Scott doesn’t change his initial thought and impressions of the Los Angeles Lakers through training camp, the team’s best point guard, Jeremy Lin, is once again going to find himself playing the role of a backup while Steve Nash, who hasn’t been exactly any good or healthy for quite some time, will remain the starter.

Team USA – France Did Their Dirty Work For Them
The Basketball World Cup was about clashing the USA and Spain (the host country) in another mouth watering final, but France went ahead and spoiled that fantasy by beating the Spaniards in the quarterfinals, so the American team has Lithuania to play against in the semifinals, and then waiting for the winner between the surprising Serbia and the French.
