Sometimes the SEC has the best team in the nation, but it doesn’t make it the best conference. TCU destroying Ole Miss in the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl and Georgia Tech running all over Mississippi State in the Capital One Orange Bowl proved that no matter how much hyped a conference or a division might be, the run of national championships has distorted the perception of the quality and depth of the SEC.

College Football Playoff – Oregon vs Florida State Predictions

The first ever College Football playoff game, the semifinal between Oregon, the Pac-12 champions and Florida State, the ACC championship and defending national champions, will be played at the Rose Bowl, showcasing the best and fastest offense in the nation and the last two Heisman winners, Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota.

On the final day of 2014 the SEC continues to take a pounding in the bowl games as TCU crushed Ole Miss in the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl and Georgia Tech easily handled Mississippi State at the Capital One Orange Bowl. Boise State pulled off another big bowl game for them, beating Arizona at the Vizio Fiesta Bowl.

Despite clearly trying to intentionally injury Aaron Rodgers, the Detroit Lions won’t have to do with Ndamukong Suh in the playoff game against the Dallas Cowboys, as his one-game suspension has been removed, instead his appeal falling on the right set of ears, settling to punish him with just a fine.

Notre Dame Over LSU – The SEC Isn’t So Great After All

The SEC has good teams and bad teams. Their dominance in bowl games sometimes has to do with the matchups they get. Apparently, a team like LSU isn’t good enough to beat a subpar Notre Dame team, which says something about the hype this conference sometimes tends to get.

College Football – Day 8 Bowl Game Scores

In another fine day of bowl games with big names in them, Notre Dame beat LSU in the Music City Bowl making it a little bit less depressing of a season, Georgia got their happy ending by crushing Louisville in the Belk Bowl while Stanford made mince meat of Maryland, supposedly a Big Ten but it’s hard to think of them as one at this point.
