We’ve been over this a few times – except for the money, there’s nothing that Texas have to offer that Nick Saban should feel too much of a pull towards and will make him leave Alabama. Right now, according to some of his players at the program, he’s even told them he isn’t going anywhere, although that doesn’t really mean anything.

A team of destiny, the San Diego Chargers, according to everything that’s happened over the last few years. Despite being in the very tough AFC West, they’re still in the playoff race, getting a huge boost for the road that’s left as they beat the Denver Brocnos 27-20 which doesn’t just keep them alive in the hunt for a postseason spot, but also making it a bit more interesting for teams trying to finish with home field advantage.

SI Cover Curse – Deciding the 2013 College Football Season
The Sports Illustrated Cover curse or jinx has been around since the 1950’s, although it doesn’t seem to effect the really successful individuals like Michael Jordan (49 covers) or other Super Bowl, Heisman Trophy and College Football champions. As for the 2013 season BCS race? It seemed like Marcus Mariota, A.J. McCarron and finally Braxton Miller were very effected by appearing on the cover.

While Nick Saban not signing the most recent extension offered to him might be slightly worrying, the bottom line is that in Alabama most people don’t seem to think that their head coach is going to make the decisions of giving up on the program and sign at Texas just because they’re offering more money.

NFL Rumors – Washington Redskins Benching Robert Griffin III, Starting Kirk Cousins
In a not too surprising move, the Washington Redskins (or to be more accurate, their coach), have decided that Robert Griffin III isn’t going to play anymore this season, and instead Kirk Cousins will start in the remaining three games, while Rex Grossman will act as his backup, and maybe even get a chance to start before this season is over.

College Football Rumors – Mack Brown Quitting Texas, Nick Saban Leaving Alabama
With no bowl games for the next couple of weeks, the most interesting thing happening right now in College Football is the head coach carousel. You won’t find bigger schools than Texas and Alabama to get involved in such a thing, as it seems that Mack Brown is closer to announcing he’s stepping down as Longhorns coach, while the Tide are getting worried that Nick Saban is going to be the man that fills his shoes.

Oklahoma & Ohio State One Win Away From The BCS Bowl Sweep
Two of the most successful college football programs during the BCS era (and way before that as well) are Oklahoma and Ohio State. The Sooners are going to play in the Sugar Bowl, Ohio State in the Orange Bowl. Both can claim at least one win in each of the BCS bowls if they are victorious this year.
