South Carolina Gamecocks – Connor Shaw Shakes Up the SEC East
The talk about Connor Shaw being criminally underrated only comes up after big wins for South Carolina, and their ability to put themselves back in the SEC East race by beating an undefeated team has done the same for their injured quarterback, who came off the bench in an hour of need to save them from another underachieving season.

Alabama Crimson Tide – The Best & Most Boring Team in the Nation
Being too good for too long creates boredom even among your own fans. It seems like Alabama have been the number one team in the nation for so long it really doesn’t seem worthwhile to stay the full game as they plow through another helpless SEC opponent, en route to what should be their third consecutive national title game.

College Football – BCS Standing Not Really Shaken Up
The losses of ranked and undefeated teams like Missouri and Texas Tech didn’t really change the national championship picture and don’t create too much of a shake up in the higher regions of the BCS standings, as the usual suspects to go all the way – Alabama, Oregon, Florida State and Ohio State didn’t really run into formidable opposition.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Got Rid Of the Wrong Person
Getting rid of Josh Freeman made sense only if the Tampa Bay Buccaneers thought that the team they have is good enough to win without him under Greg Schiano. NFL Rumors – Atlanta Falcons Not Trading Tony Gonzalez
Despite ESPN really trying hard to push that angle, the Atlanta Falcons have made no indication that they’re going to trade Tony Gonzalez in order to give him some sort of shot for the Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs, while giving themselves a first round pick as the failure (so far) of this season is some wake up call and time for a minor rebuild.

Race for the BCS – When Will the Undefeated Teams Lose
There are 10 teams remaining in College Football, as 8 of them are thinking about being among the top two in the BCS when this season is over. Alabama, Florida State and Oregon seem like the best bets for finishing in the top two when it’s all over, but even them have risky spots in the schedule that’s left for them to play which might take them off the path of a national title game.

New York Giants – Misleading Run Defense Statistics
When you check out box scores and statistics, it may seem like the New York Giants aren’t doing everything badly, and their defense is able to at least handling the run and especially elite running backs in the NFL. However, when you take a more macro look at their whole performance on defense and in general, it seems that the numbers are simply misleading.

Seattle Seahawks Rumors – Taking it Slow With Percy Harvin
In the big arms race of the NFC West, adding Percy Harvin should have been a huge offensive bonus for the Seattle Seahawks. However, his torn labrum surgery has kept him off the field for the last three months, and they’re not rushing him into anything if they don’t have to.

NFL Rumors: Philadelphia Eagles Re-Starting Michael Vick
After missing two games due to a hamstring injury, the Philadelphia Eagle seem intent on bringing Michael Vick back to the starting quarterback position, as the other options for the spot haven’t proven to be too reliable despite the promising start.

NFL Rumors – Minnesota Vikings Not Benching Josh Freeman
Despite a horrendous performance on his debut as the starting quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings, Josh Freeman won’t lose that job in the next game as well, as his head coach believes that the problems featured in his passing are easily fixable even in the short time left for them to prepare.
