What’s Wrong With Playing in the Snow?

Jermaine Jones and his snow-Afro might be my favorite soccer picture in quite some time. Yes, the sport isn’t exactly made to be played on snow and in general harsh conditions, but taking advantage of the weather isn’t something the United States team should be ashamed about or criticized. Costa Rica knew what they were heading into, agreed to play, and have no use or right to complain now.

Steven Gerrard Thinks England Fans Should Boo Rio Ferdinand

While matches against San Marino are hardly an event worth mentioning a minute or two after their over, some things do resonate a bit deeper, like the English fans making their opinion heard about Rio Ferdinand pulling a 180 because of his own damaged ego, trying to make life harder for Roy Hodgson and the English squad, something Steven Gerrard criticized through the back door by supporting the fans.

Jose Mourinho Suggests Real Madrid Exit to Chelsea

If there is something Jose Mourinho loves to do, it is sending out vague messages regarding his future at Real Madrid, making alleged hints at a possible return to a club he’s already managed for in the past. With Porto out of the question and Inter looking like a very unlikely possibility, that only leaves us with Chelsea, who should be looking for a new (or possibly old) manager by the time this season ends.

Transfer Rumors 2013 – Atletico Madrid Ready for Fernando Torres Return

When life has got you down, maybe you should try and return to somewhere you were happy, and they still want you. Fernando Torres might not admit it, but it seems that he’s pretty miserable at Chelsea, not being able to reach something even close to the heights he did with Liverpool and even during his younger days at Atletico Madrid, and maybe a return to the roots is the best thing for him.

Transfer Rumors 2013 – Manchester City & Chelsea Fighting For Falcao

It’s going to be quite the interesting battle when this season is over, and the richer Premier League clubs, specifically Chelsea and Manchester City, resume their duel in an attempt to sign the best strikers in the world. On top of the list for both teams in one name – Radamel Falcao, while Edinson Cavani, Robert Lewandowski and Gonzalo Higuain are a bit further down the list.

Transfer Rumors 2013 – Manchester United Still Chasing Ezequiel Garay

Earlier in the season, it looked like Manchester United were going to have and bring immediate reinforcements to their sinking defensive line, conceding every match. Things have changed for the better since, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t planning on signing centre backs, expensive ones, this summer. The likeliest of options might be Ezequiel Garay of Benfica.

Cristiano Ronaldo & Portugal Almost Lose to Israel

With Cristiano Ronaldo having one of his worst performances in recent memory and being two goals down with 20 minutes to go, Portugal are probably semi-pleased to leave Israel with a draw, without too much damage to their chances of finishing second in their World Cup qualifying group, which is hard to see how it won’t fall to Russia when it’s all said and done.

Transfer Rumors 2013 – Hulk Wants to Leave Zenit for Chelsea

Sometimes a rumor is about connecting certain dots, and even though something isn’t said clearly, it’s not too hard to understand. Hulk was ready to leave Porto for the Premier League and Chelsea, but too much money was asked from the European Champions, so Zenit swooped in and purchased the Brazilian, who apparently isn’t too happy with life in the Russian league.

Transfer Rumors 2013 – Chelsea Interested in Fraser Forster From Celtic

Even though Petr Cech is only 30, it feels like he’s much older, and his dropping form in the last couple of years suggests that he isn’t exactly playing according to his age. While Chelsea aren’t planning to ditch their goalkeeper of almost a decade, they’re certainly looking at younger options, with Fraser Forster of Celtic an option to become his backup, and possibly heir, depending on other developments.

Transfer Rumors 2013 – Juventus Want Chicharito From Manchester United

With the weather getting warmer, so do the transfer rumors around Europe, and we’re once again with Juventus looking for a striker, renewing their interest in Javier Hernandez, who seems to be having highs & lows with Manchester United in terms of his scoring and his place in the lineup. This isn’t the first time that Juve have shown interest in Chicharito, but the second time around is usually more serious than the first.
