Things are getting clearer in the AL East as the Boston Red Sox come from behind once again to beat the New York Yankees. The Wild Card standings spots belong to the Baltimore Orioles and Toronto Blue Jays, closer to clinching a playoff spot. In the National League, the New York Mets now top the wild card standings along with the San Francisco Giants, while the St. Louis Cardinals are only two games behind.

Milwaukee Brewers 11  Chicago Cubs 3: Both teams had 8 hits each, but Ryan Braun made his count, hitting two home runs to finish with 5 RBIs, helped out by Chris Carter, who hit home run number 35 this season with a grand slam.

Pittsburgh Pirates 10  Cincinnati Reds 4: The Pirates started with six runs and never looked back. Sean Rodriguez hit his 15th home run of the season, while Jameson Taillon, who earned the win on the mound, also picked up his first RBI with a single.

Pittsburgh Pirates 7  Cincinnati Reds 3: The Pirates sweep the doubleheader, this time getting two home runs from Rodriguez, as Juan Nicasio earns the win, once again doing a very good job since moving to the bullpen.

New York Yankees 5  Boston Red Sox 6: The Red Sox keep coming from behind to beat the Yankees, this time with a Xander Bogaerts home run to put them in the game, and Mookie Betts with an RBI and then scoring off a wild pitch by Adam Warren.

Washington Nationals 3  Atlanta Braves 7: Josh Collmenter struck out 8 as the Braves won a rare one against the Nats, with Nick Markakis finishing with 2 RBIs, and Anthony Recker helping out with a couple as well.

Detroit Tigers 0  Cleveland Indians 1: Carlos Carrasco breaks his hand and is out for the season, as an Ian Kinsler line drive hit him and ended his year. Justin Verlander pitched well but his offense couldn’t support, while the Indians won in the 10th inning off a Jose Ramirez single in the 10th.

Tampa Bay Rays 5  Baltimore Orioles 2: A loss the Orioles could afford considering the other results, giving up Evan Longoria’s 35th home run of the season, while Matt Andriese did a decent enough job in his 5.1 innings start to earn the win.

Miami Marlins 0  Philadelphia Phillies 8: Jeremy Hellickson was terrific in his complete game, tossing a 3-hitter and striking out 5. Offense came from A.J. Ellis with 3 RBIs and Tommy Joseph with a couple.

Minnesota Twins 2  New York Mets 3: The Mets continue their surge, now tied with the Giants for the first spot in the NL Wild Card standings. Curtis Granderson was huge for them in extra innings, trying the game with a home run in the 11th, and winning it with a walk off homer in the 12th.

Kansas City Royals 3  Chicago White Sox 2: Hunter Dozier and Eric Hosmer hit RBI singles in the 5th inning to take the Royals over the top, and hang on for the win in Chicago with some solid bullpen pitching.

Oakland Athletics 11  Texas Rangers 2: Yu Darvish had a rough outing, giving up a couple of home runs, including a 3-run homer to Marcus Semien, his 26th of the season.

San Diego Padres 0  Colorado Rockies 8: Jon Gray struck out 16 while tossing a 4-hitter to set a new franchise record, supported by the bats of Nolan Arenado (38th home run of the season) and a couple of long bombs from Tom Murphy.

Los Angeles Dodgers 6  Arizona Diamondbacks 2: The Dodgers are closer and closer to clinching the division, getting home run number 23 this season by Joc Pederson, while Shelby Miller’s record fell to 2-12 this season, with a 7.10 ERA.

Toronto Blue Jays 1  Los Angeles Angels 6: Albert Pujols hit his 30th home run of the season (111 RBIs) as Francisco Liriano had a bad day on the mound in Anaheim, with the Blue Jays doing an awful job in scoring situations, going 1-for-12 with runners in scoring positions.

St. Louis Cardinals 3  San Francisco Giants 2: The Cards are still out of the top 2 in the wild card standings, but things are interesting. They scored twice in the 9th, with a sacrifice fly by Kolten Wong winning the game.

Houston Astros 2  Seattle Mariners 1: Mike Fiers threw a 3-hitter in six innings, enough for a two-RBI single by Yulieski Gurriel to help his team win the game.
