The New England Patriots got Tom Brady back like he was never gone, easily beating the helpless Cleveland Browns. The Minnesota Vikings defense was too much for the Houston Texans and Brock Osweiler. The Atlanta Falcons figured out the Denver Broncos defense, and it didn’t hurt that Paxton Lynch was playing. The Dallas Cowboys rookie duo of Prescott and Elliott beat up the Cincinnati Bengals. And the New York Giants lost a third in a row, this time at Green Bay. It was a fun week 5.

Arizona Cardinals (2-3) 33  San Francisco 49ers (1-4) 21: Drew Stanton wasn’t great, but with David Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald helping him out, the Cardinals stopped the losing, and made the 49ers seem even more lost, not knowing if to dump Blaine Gabbert, and then go with Colin Kaepernick or Christian Ponder?

New England Patriots (4-1) 33  Cleveland Browns (0-5) 13: The Browns? They’re a joke. Cody Kessler got hurt. Terrelle Pryor, probably their best receiver, played behind center for a number of snaps. This whole organization seems completely lost. On the other side? Nothing much, just Tom Brady coming back from suspension and throwing three touchdown passes to Martellus Bennett.

Philadelphia Eagles (3-1) 23  Detroit Lions (2-3) 24: Very hard to define the Lions. But they made the big plays, including a Matt Prater field goal from 29 yards to take the lead, followed by Darius Slay becoming the first player to intercept Carson Wentz in the pros, and hand the Eagles their first loss this season.

Chicago Bears (1-4) 23  Indianapolis Colts (2-3) 29: The Colts take the pressure off of their head coach for one week, as Andrew Luck throws two touchdown passes and gets 75 yards from Frank Gore. Luck finding T.Y. Hilton on a 35-yard touchdown in the fourth gave the Colts the lead back before Adam Vinatieri settled things with a field goal. Meanwhile, the Chicago Bears seem to be happy with Brian Hoyer at quarterback, but besides the end for Jay Cutler approaching, there’s not a whole lot of good happening in Chicago.

Tennessee Titans (2-3) 30  Miami Dolphins (1-4) 17: The fans have turned on Ryan Tannehill, calling for Matt Moore. Whether it’s him, the front office or just the o-line, the Dolphins are one big mess. Meanwhile, Tennessee got the finest of Marcus Mariota, throwing for 3 touchdowns and running for another, as the Titans gained 235 yards on the ground behind their fantastic offensive line.

Washington Redskins (3-2) 16  Baltimore Ravens (3-2) 10: Third straight win for Washington, 2nd straight loss for Baltimore. The Ravens offense played for just one quarter and four more seconds, and that was it. Kirk Cousins wasn’t great, but delivered on a 21-yard touchdown pass to Pierre Garcon. With 39 seconds to go, a Joe Flacco pass resulted in a touchdown, but the call was reversed.

Houston Texas (3-2) 13  Minnesota Vikings (5-0) 31: The Vikings continue to be the epitome of efficiency. Sam Bradford with two touchdown passes and 0 interceptions, Matt Asiata with a touchdown and Marcus Sherels with a punt return score. Meanwhile, the Texans were held to just 214 yards on offense, Brock Osweiler was intercepted once while completing just 19-of-42 throws.

New York Jets (1-4) 13  Pittsburgh Steelers (4-1) 31: This season is quickly getting out of hand for the Jets, who didn’t turn the ball over, but couldn’t get key stops, while settling for punts too many times.Ben Roethlisberger looked untroubled by pressure, throwing four touchdown passes, including a couple to Sammie Coates.

Atlanta Falcons (4-1) 23  Denver Broncos (4-1) 16: Turns out it’s not just the defense for Denver. Paxton Lynch had a rough debut, throwing one touchdown and one interception, but mostly busy avoiding pressure, getting sacked six times by the Falcons. Matt Ryan didn’t get his receivers to work, but his running backs filled in. Devonta Freeman ran for a touchdown, and Tevin Coleman caught one touchdown pass and finishing with 132 receiving yards.

Cincinnati Bengals (2-3) 14  Dallas Cowboys (4-1) 28: The rookie train keeps on moving forward, stomping everything in its path. Dak Prescott threw for 227 yards while completing 75% of his throws, including one touchdown pass to Cole Beasley. Ezekiel Elliott ran for 134 yards and two touchdowns, while Prescott helped him out on the ground with a score of his own. Andy Dalton was sacked four times, and only got two touchdown passes after the Cowboys led 28-0.

Buffalo Bills (3-2) 30  Los Angeles Rams (3-2) 19: Case Keenum was awful (two interceptions), and Todd Gurley not great enough. On the other side, Tyrod Taylor was terrific (Two touchdown passes) and LeSean McCoy ran for 150 yards. The Bills took the lead for good in this game thanks to a 41-yard interception return by NIckell Robey-Coleman.

San Diego Chargers (1-4) 31  Oakland Raiders (4-1) 34: The Chargers shouldn’t be three games below .500, but Philip Rivers keeps watching his team blow games late. This time, a botched field goal to tie the game. Derek Carr threw for 317 yards and two touchdowns. Amari Cooper caught one of those TD passes, finishing with 138 receiving yards.

New York Giants (2-3) 16  Green Bay Packers (3-1) 23: The Giants defense intercepted Aaron Rodgers twice and it wasn’t enough. Not when Eli Manning is so inaccurate (18-for-35, one touchdown pass), with the TD pass to Odell Beckham only coming  when the game was almost over. The Giants had just 43 yards on the ground, while the Packers finished with 147.
